OK, I'll give it until the end of September for interested parties to come forward if they want to take it over and then, assuming 180 still wants to take on this madhouse, we'll start talking about a handover of the passwords, details etc and then I will hand it over and become a regular poster!

Gary, you are a legend. Like many others on here, this is absolutely my first port of call every day and not quite sure what I would do without it. Thanks for everything you have done, it really is appreciated. Hope 180 is able to take over the reigns.

Just to add my own thanks Gary for all the time and effort you have put in over the years. As an "expat" I can't overstate how much I have valued the forum as a source of information and as a means of keeping in touch with the Club.

If I can add my thanks to those of Dorset Dart, us exiles need the forum to keep us on-side with info and opinions, and you've provided that brilliantly down the years. Thanks again Gaz. All the best. COYD

Gary has done a fantastic job.
Like Trev B ,I have supported the Darts since the 1950s and has been great being able to express my opinion and praise the team or even have a bit of a moan now and then.
The forum has been a huge success and I hope it continues.
Well done Gary and all the best in your future roles with our great club.

Well done Gary for putting yourself out in giving us some entertainment and information over the years, and giving us the chance to air our views. I hope there is someone out there who can do the job equally as well. Now you can concentrate on enjoying yourself more without having to worry about keeping law and order on here.
Well Done.

Hi,

Due to technical issues (older & later software), I cannot restore this forum's posts to my own forum, so
will have to start off with mainly a blank one - I hope this is ok?

I have created the same 4 forums which people can create new topics in, but you will also need to register (like on here) in order to post (in future). The forum is currently deactivated.

There won't be any Elite Club or redesign of shirts in avatar format.
It will just be your posts & I'll do a Man of the Match poll, but I won't be doing the
The Leach/Towersey Memorial Shield (unless someone else is) - I'll just keep a record of the stats.

There will probably be some hiccups along the way, but I can only do my best.

All I ask is that you save your avatars (if you have one), so you can upload them in the new forum.
Once registered & logged in, click your name (top right), click profile, edit profile, edit avatar, browse for it, select it, submit.

I'm not running as "https", just the old "http". I could update to https but I don't want to break other stuff running under "thedarts.eu" domain.
You'll most likely get a "this connection is not secure" message at the password prompt.
Just use a unique password that you don’t use elsewhere, if you are worried
- which you should be doing anyway, so shouldn't be a problem.

Gary has suggested that I register users now to save an influx of new registrations when the forum goes live.

Please PM me (or email me: info@thedarts.eu) & I'll activate the forum & give you the link to register.
PM has a limit of 50, so maybe best to email - up to you. I don't know how many active registered members we have.

I won't approve new registrations until this forum is about the close, otherwise people will post in both which I don't want to happen, unless Gary thinks it would be ok?

Please keep a note of your email address & password (although there is an option to reset the password, so long as you know what your email address is).

This is what it currently looks like: http://thedarts.eu/2021-2022/dartsboard.jpg

Thanks. Rick

PS. What with the bickering in the Eastbourne thread, I am wondering if this is the right decision or should I have just kept quiet.
