Dartford Knights post of 10.19am today is spot on , I dont want to open the TB debate again as he did a great job for the Darts BUT wasnt able to get us promoted during the last 3 seasons so he had a fair crack , the Board were right to appoint a new Management team , its just currently NOT working and the decisions they have made so far mean that genuine Dart fans are questioning there ability to do the job !!!!!!!!!!!

I sorry to say this , but what a load of crap some are writing. Yes Tb had a good squad of players, but did not use them to his or our advantage last season. Regarding players leaving, Money talks these days as you all know, and most have agents who do the talking for them, so a lot follow the money which you can't blame them for. we have a budget which must be adhere to, full stop. I can't remember if it's on this board or not , but people are on about running tea bars the club bar's, function areas, I do not think any of them understand the time and effort plus money involved in running these area's. All are leased out for RENT with possible part of the profits.
To me we have to give our new management team a little longer, we are only about eight point out side of the play off's. I fully understand the football at time is a bit crap , but feel sure it will be sorted out very soon, I hope so.

Sorry! but these fans have every right to express their feelings/ opinions , wether you feel its crap or not, after all they are the ones paying good money to support their club.
If we all sang from the same songsheet ,there would be no point of this forum.

Well, I suppose we're not losing every game. We got to give the duo a reasonable shout at this job. We have been spoilt over the years, and 11 games isn't exactly giving them a chance.
But it's the way we are winning the games. Not exactly playing good stuff are we?

I agree. While the football might be poor, heaven forfend that we had lost any or even ALL of the last four games. Even if we play badly but don’t lose the next two, we are in the last qualifying round of the FA cup and unbeaten in six, which ain’t a bad thing. Shit performances and great performances very quickly become simple results.

Wilkie, it takes exactly the same amount of time and effort for the club to run the tea bars and bar as it does for the current third party to do it. They are not running it with volunteers, they are paying staff. Nobody is calling for our usual bunch of helpers to take over, it would have to be the club's own paid staff. The only difference is that the club would have to find the right manager and staff to run the bars. That would present its own risks I agree, but would also offer greater rewards. The fact that a third party is currently willing to pay us a fixed sum and run the bars themselves proves there is a bigger profit to be made or they wouldn't be doing it. I can't pretend that I am 100% sure it would be successful, but it's certainly an idea that should be considered. Many other clubs at our level are doing this so simply dismissing the idea as "crap" is, in my opinion, very narrow-minded.

I seem to remember i have quoted this before, but a very good friend of mine who is in the corporate catering trade says there is more profit in a simple cup of tea than any other product/side to the industry!!

As the ingredients are water and a teabag you can't possibly argue with that!
