Its Arthur here, I've just put Reg to bed. Hes been a real good boy recently, he even told me he only had two cups of tea tonight. Edith has been worried a bit about him lately, but we love him dearly. He told me before I tucked him in, just how much he enjoyed the game tonight. He lost count of the times that we got down the flanks. According to Reg the pace picked up a lot in the second half, Charlie gave a real sound performance and Luke Allen looked like he's getting back somewhere near his old self. He's an intelligent player is Luke. But who's this Gavin McCallum. I saw him in recent friendlies and he has been outstanding. He looks like another Kingy gem of a find to Reg and I. Reg has some mates down the snooker Hall who said he was excellent for Welling but to us at least they haven't gone far enough. Hes very very good. If he were to join it would be another sensational addition and would add to the "two players competing for the same position" idea. Ok we realise tonight was lower opposition but hes been very good in the tougher friendly games. Against Dagenham we thought he was top top class. Its such an exciting time at the moment. The real tests starts Saturday of course but wow how much we must all be looking forward to it albeit on the screen and not on the terraces. Im back in Broadmoor at the weekend, but Reg will be at the bar cheering the boys on. If the likes of McCallum are added to the existing squad this is going to be one hell of a season. COYD
