I have to say that like Ozy, I can be a bit hard to please, but I'm encouraged by the two new signings. Particularly Mark Smith who I've been impressed with when I've seen several times at Eastbourne Borough.

Given the tumult around DFC, especially toward last season's end - Bonner must have had a fair bit of deliberation before making his decision to sign for 2019/20. Most fans will recognise this. We now have a confirmed captain and centre back pairing which are not only steeped in experience, but also very well known quantities to the club. My personal expectation is raised with this news. If Liverpool manage to do the double on Saturday it will have been a very good football week.

I was very pleased to hear the news about Tom Bonner. He would have been extremely difficult to replace. I would also be surprised if other clubs were not after him, so they have done well to retain his services. Another example of the sort of loyalty we have seen from a number of individuals.

Well we have enough to put a fairly decent team now, although left back might be a problem. Perhaps Mark O. will turn up fighting fit for preseason, or young Taylor Fisher may be given an opportunity. It would be good to see a home grown youngster in the side again.

I really do hope that Mark Onyemah can overcome the problems with injury which he suffered at the end of the season. At his best he is a very good player and, from what I hear, a good man to have in the squad.

Whereas I'm happy that Tom Bonner has signed, DA Mikey's view that 'center back pairing not only steeped in experience, but also very well known quantities to the club' actually 'wake up' next season. As I feel they both sadly 'fell away' towards the end of last season, and were getting caught out time and again. Now that may sound controversial in some eyes, but then the whole team did in my honest opinion.
