Re: Braintree (H) Sat 24th Aug
I had several concerns when the team was announced-
With our right back suspended and replaced by a player who had scarcely met the rest of the team, we also lost our regular left back, who had been playing well. At the time I assumed he must be injured, especially as we had no real replacement and he wasn't even on the bench, where we had no defensive cover.
We seemed to have a lot of players returning from injury and unlikely to be match fit. I was especially surprised Norman wasn't selected, perhaps allowing Darren to make a brief return later.
I enjoyed the second half, when we seemed to play much better, surprisingly after Adam was taken off. Two unusual features- all the goals scored by players facing their previous clubs and the sight of both goalkeepers needing treatment in the same penalty area.

How that Braintree guy came up with Noble 'play acting' to get their guy sent off is beyond me. A def elbow and Nobes was up in a matter of seconds.
