I enjoyed my usual pre-season visit to Folkestone with a concession at £3 meant more to spend on a real ale shandy as I was driving.
Some really good football played in both halves and an excellently taken goal (I think Philpott) and Sam deserved his penalty after dribbling round a few defenders before being chopped down.
We played football from the back with ball to feet and it was a treat to watch only spoilt by their keeper who made some excellent saves from shots and one on one's whilst it was left to Folkestone to lump the ball in the air and Derren had a quiet game hardly having to make a save.
I will miss the first five league games along with The 5th Searcher as both families are away in France but no doubt The Duke or Gilesey will keep us up to date with performances and results.

GOOD LUCK TO THE TEAM & FANS NEXT WEEK AND FOR EACH GAME UNTIL I CAN CATCH UP WITH WATCHING THEM AGAIN

Our 1st goal was an absolute beauty but it was Ben Greenhalgh that got it rather than the trialist Jamie Philpott.

At my age I struggle to remember any of the players names that alone recognise them, it's a good job I have my son The 5th reminding me.
I had the shandy to forget the problems with names and it must have worked and apologies to Ben Greenhalgh it was a great goal out of nowhere.

Now asked me about players from around my early years of watching The Darts 1953 onwards and I would know the likes of Jeff Newstead Chris Adams Johnnie Ashen is that a sign of old age but who's this Ryno everyone keeps talking about ?
