Glad to see it's not just me commenting on our penalties. But I'm the only one that gets shot down and gets names thrown at me for it for some reason.

I think Kingy is on a 3yr contract so can’t see him going anywhere, as long as he can keep most of this squad with may be a couple of additions then we will have a very strong team to compete next season either for the play offs again or preferably the championship. Almost every squad will be strengthening so it’s going to be a tough battle again but I don’t believe anyone would want it any other way.

I can’t comment on today’s game as I didn’t see it due to travelling but it’s a gutting result and even worse to go out the way we did via a poxy penalty shoot out. Why the league didn’t have extra time first as everyone wanted I don’t know but nobody is going to feel the hurt & pain more than the players & especially Steve King after everything they’ve put in to getting us where they finished. Kingy must be feeling it the most after reaching this far 4 times I think it is with 4 different clubs and all having the same ending result (albeit not all penalty shoot outs).

To Steve & the players hold your heads up guys & be proud of what you’ve achieved this season because you’ve turned this club from being in a relegation position to an almost promotion position which absolutely nobody expected so for this well done & thank you. We start again in October for the new push.

Disappointing result, but we can hold our heads high.
There's no way SK will be leaving cos none of us were even expecting to have even made it to the playoffs.
Sadly, the game was missing a goal to bring it to life, and it never came, from either side. We probably had our best first half of any of our playoff games, but for some reason, whilst mostly being in charge of the game, we never quite raised our game tempo in the second half as in the previous two games. No complaints from me with the starting eleven choice either and once again our defensive display was excellent, keeping a clean sheet. And what a save from Sesay, it was out of this world on one of the few occasions we were troubled. SK will be feeling down after the game, but he knows the fans are all behind him when we start again.
Whilst I'm obviously disappointed not to have taken advantage of getting ourselves into the final and not seeing some northern games next season, there are going to be some very interesting games next season and some revenue raising local derbies for fans to look forward to. Given the national situation, it may well be a blessing in disguise.
Thoroughly enjoyed our change in fortunes this season, which hopefully augers well for next season. Thanks to the squad for this season's journey and memories.

The final should have included extra time. Strange how Weymouth seemed to be hell bent on running down the clock to take the game to penalties towards the end.
We had them on the ropes.
The best team didn't get promoted today and like Havant they will come straight back down again.

If anyone knows of a worse set of penalties, I’d be interested to hear/see them. Somehow we made England look like Germany, it was front page stuff, never mind the back cover.
Proud of SK and the team this season, but to put 3/3 penalty kicks over the bar is surely unprecedented?

Because you are a small minded person pretending to be a Dartford Fan but a supporter of another team. As I say DM me I will give you my number and I can discover your true identity. I have my suspicions

Disappointing to lose in that way but if you don't do enough in 90 minutes that's what can happen.

Looking ahead I fully expect this club to be challenging for the league title next season. Anyone know when preseason starts?

When you get to my age. You tend to forget things, but I can't remember Dartford ever winning a penalty shoot-out.

Please tell me I'm wrong

I do remember Steve Butterworth's penalty bringing down a satellite against St Albans though!

I am not going to criticise,we have come so far since Kingy came in.
I hope that he stays and builds a squad even better than the present one
It just wasn't meant to be ,so we go again in October and hopefully the NLS title.

We did win a shoot out against Canvey Island about 10 years ago,I think we won 8-7 .
No doubt the stato's on this forum will confirm.
I think that it was in a trophy replay at PP.
