I was delighted to see Charlie back in the side and even happier that he scored three goals. He has always been one of my favourite players and I decided at the start of the season to continue as his kit sponsor rather than switch to one of the new signings, some of whom have still not attracted a sponsor, even though I feared he might not play regularly. A few weeks ago I found a video of his early goals for Dartford and some of his other clubs. It was a timely reminder that, although many now think of him as a goal "poacher," he has also scored many spectacular goals, with his feet and his head.

Could Steve King sending Charlie out on loan to re-discover his scoring touch at the same level be the masterstroke of the season?
I remember Tony Burman doing a similar thing with Lee Noble a few years ago and he ended up being the player of the year.

The Don, maybe I didn't word it right and you are right, we did dominate we just looked more like scoring second half. Even though Conor hit the bar.
But I was well pleased with the fight in the side last night. Jazzi did a lot last night as did Nassim. An altogether better performance than of late.

Well done to all of the players tonight especially Charlie not only for his hattrick but even in the first half he looked dangerous with those two early efforts that were just cleared off the line and he could be found out on the wing at times looking for the ball holding it up and passing well.
ljaha looks so strong and is improving with each game plus him nicking the ball and giving it to Charlie was the right thing and L'Ghoul is certainly tricky but as someone else said it would be nice to see him taking the ball into the box more often tempting the defenders into fouling him but he did well to win the penalty tonight.

Respect to Steve King with his comments on the Braintree performance , no excuses and he obviously put it right with the Billericay performance , whilst some of the 7 changes may have been enforced [ injuries ?] it certainly has sent out a message to the guys who have been 1st names on the team sheet , " Youre NOT indispensable so get your a...s in gear or else !!!!!!

Delighted with that result and, at last, we managed to take some chances which allowed us to dominate and record a well deserved win. I always feel confident that we’ll win any league game if we can nudge ourselves in front because it allows us to control matches and open teams up. As obvious as it is, our lack of cutting edge has probably cost us another 10 points as no team has looked better. If Charlie and Femi can form a decent partnership similar to McQueen and Romaine did last season, then we can average a couple of goals per game and I’m convinced we’ll win this league.
Just look at the number of players that came in after weeks on the sidelines and it just emphasises the depth and quality pulled together by Kingy. The boys completely dominated, apart from a brief spell at the start of the second half.
Special praise to Tom Bonner for slotting in well at left back and Josh Hill and Luke Allen. Charlie certainly knows where the goal is and I really think once Femi gets his first then he’ll start banging them from all angles.
Looking forward to Saturday’s top 5 battle with Hungerford.

I trusted kingy after Braintree just as much as I trust him after billericay. He doesn’t BS if something’s not right and is honest with the teams performance, his quality as a top manager will see him get it right in the end.
The guy is brilliant.

Well that was a bit better, wasn't it?

Much more desire, commitment and quality all over the pitch. Great to see Charlie back and looking so hungry and getting a deserved hat-trick. Also agree that David Ijaha was excellent and easily his best performance for the club.
Kingy got the performance he demanded and hopefully this performance and result will have got us back on track. Look out Hungerford!
