Another snore fest. It's football Jim, but not as we know it.
I know it's all about players getting minutes on the pitch and testing and trying combinations etc, but boy do I bloody hate pre-season friendlies. I got caught up in the pre-season excitement and bought the 4 game ticket bundle so I guess I'll stick it out for the Bromley game. Roll on the proper stuff.

Re: Pre-Season Match Thread 2019/20
Orient were a solid physically big outfit who were always going to dominate our small forwards but it could have been different if Pughys penalty shout been given, looked like he was pushed over to me. Good to see Lee Noble play the first half and the new kid at fullback could be a very good signing. Our problem of course is getting the ball into the net and if injuries don't improve take a chance on Wabo he is not the big bloke we really need but he is skilful with a deceptive turn of pace, he set up the trialist wearing 9 with a very good chance but the bloke somehow put it past the post. Ben Greenhaigh looked very good when he came on. Still these games are only friendlies if we get it right from 3rd August who will remember them.

I really don't know why you bothered and you properly don't now.spike wrote: ↑Sat Jul 20, 2019 8:22 pm We wont get out of this league with small forwards. We need big mobile forwards.

Re: Pre-Season Match Thread 2019/20
PL says we 'need to start clicking in the final third'. Sort carrying on where we left off really from last season. From the starting 11 we weren't going to get many goals anyway. Let's hope we don't let our pre-season melt into the start of this seasons kick off. One big guy who can mix it is what we need.
I'm afraid Sheringham and Pughie are not going to be the answer. Well, not for me anyway, hope I get proved wrong.
Still, one can only hope the Dynamic Duo can rustle up something. I like the idea of McQueen and Wanadio running defense's ragged but if there's no one there getting the goals.....
