It’s looking likely that there’ll be no play-offs in our Division with only the top team(Wealdstone) to go up. Play offs ARE likely to be played in the National League though with one team relegated from there. All subject to a vote by the clubs next week.

All is not lost. It appears that the play off teams, both in the North and the South are challenging the leagues decision. Many teams are raising the points of contention during today via twitter and alike. So may be worth a listen to hear the full story. I'm still of the Will Carling opinion, that the league is run by "old farts"

Sounds like it's done and dusted to me. The financial gulf aside, the top division of non-league isn't too dissimilar from the top flight in the professional game.

With NL Premier clubs having one vote with the North and South divisions only given 4 each, and 51% required to rubber stamp the proposal, this can only go one way now.

Along with that, the powers that be have issued what amounts to be a veiled threat, that if the motion isn't passed then the alternative will be to null and void the season.

In otherwords, the message of contempt for the North and South is "It's our way or the highway".

I wonder what the guardians of the closed shop will come up with next? On top of ground grading regulations maybe future promotion hopefuls from the regional leagues will only be admitted to the party if they are full-time. Woking fans consider yourselves lucky.

The energyless no get up and go clueless old farts at the helm have seriously damaged the spirit of non-league from level 2 all the way down the pyramid. There is a clear ignorance in the lack of understanding of the hard work and committment that goes into the running of these clubs on a daily basis.

Among them are a good few angry clubs. South Shields, Vauxhall Motors and Jersey Bulls have all but won their leagues but have been denied promotion.

How come? When a club is about to be promoted to League 2 as Champions with only a 4pt lead over the second placed club with 9 games remaining and 7pts over the third place team with 8 games remaining.

Barrow fans will argue they had been playing the best football. Laughably comparing themselves to Barcelona. Apart from the fact form will be out of the window now with even more unpredictable results on the horizon, Barrow were dropping points before lockdown.
3rd placed Notts. County were in better form.

The whole thing is a total farce.

After some delving it sees the decision is out of the League's hands. The North & South divisions are not considered as Elite sports by the Department of Culture Media and Sport who have the final say. Elite sports are considered those that have TV contracts and participants who wholly earn their income from their sport. That leaves room for debate about some EFL2 and National League sides regarding pay of course but not about tv coverage and no new media contracts can be entered into. Therefore not being considered elite our division falls under the not more than 6 people gathering together in public. The full time/ part time situation alone creates difficulties, the Darts are p/t Havant & W f/t, so if there was no tv coverage complication the Hawks could play we couldn't. I don't where the figures come from but it is estimated a 3 match play-off run would cost a club £50k and they could still lose in the final and be back where they started from. Reading the Weymouth website clubs have decided to think over their positions before Monday's vote. The league had hoped to have play-offs in all divisions if that is what clubs wanted but it is the Government who are blocking it. Even with play-offs going ahead there would still be clubs complaining, indeed Notts County are not happy as they were hitting form whilst Barrow were slipping and may have overtaken them, but the points per game solution saw Barrow cling on to top spot. Bet EFL2 would sooner have County coming up. The person who comes up with an answer that keeps every club happy should be granted a knighthood/damehood when the next honours list comes out. With over 40,000 deaths, disruption of the treatment to those chronically ill, plenty of job loses to come and childrens education being adversely affected, I'll settle for the Darts having to put up with NLS football again next season grateful enough to be there to watch it and thankful I am comfortable enough financially not to worry about the roof over my head.

Apocryphal disease. Towns and cities in chaos, overrun by neanderthals, Economy ruined. Society and recreation in tatters, yet every man and his dog are now crowing for me to come to their house because some work needs doing.
Who has died? Apparently Kate Garraway’s other half doesn’t look good. BoJo had a turn (honest). Bullshit. I hope those who craved the sensationalism and a couple of months off work enjoyed it.

The thread is the conclusion of the NLS. Let's hope that its not concluded for DFC. We could be a matter of just 3 matches away from reaching our start of season Goal. If I had said that away to Tonbridge Angels then Reg would have been certified for sure
