Ryno is one of my all-time favourite players and there's no doubting that both he and McQueen had a big impact and helped turn the match around on Saturday, but even I was a little surprised to see he'd gathered so many votes for MOTM. I don't know, perhaps the blatantly anti-Ryno posts on here provoked a reaction and encouraged others to counter by showing Ryno their support. I know he has always divided opinion but the intensity of the dislike shown by some people is bordering on obsession. They are so entrenched in their feelings that they just can't stop themselves bursting into a lengthy diatribe at every opportunity. Trying to dilute the underlying disdain for the player with a few empty platitudes doesn't hide the intensity of the contempt. I really don't understand why this even has to be the topic of conversation when all the signs are that under Steve King, we're now heading in the right direction.

Ultimately the CLUB is bigger than any individuals, so first and foremost I want to see players who genuinely want to be here and are committed to the club and the new manager. We have a few players who were actively working AGAINST the previous management duo and that is totally unacceptable. That simply cannot be tolerated and any players who are not on board with the new manager and are not prepared to fight for their place, should be shown the door at the earliest opportunity. Those that are good enough and have the right attitude, will prevail. If Ryno knuckles down and makes the cut then I will be absolutely delighted but if he doesn't then so be it.

I have faith that Steve King will eventually get it right, although it may be asking too much to expect anything other than mid table security for this current season. I have loved watching Ryno play over the years, but it remains to be seen whether he (and several other players for that matter) fit into King's long term plans. In the meantime, it would be nice if a few people on here could show a bit of respect for each other's opinions.

My MOTM : Luke Allen.

Hayesy is 34 now, & has stated this is his last season playing. So i don't think even he's expecting to figure in anyones long term plans!!

I have no intention of joining the Ryan Hayes debate - there's been enough obsessive and entrenched feelings expressed on this forum by both sides already.

Which is a pity and a distraction from a brilliant late comeback by the lads (that wouldn't have happened a few weeks ago) and the pleasure of being part of a large crowd of 2148 people who didn't need segregation and were partisan but generous in their appreciation of a good afternoon's entertainment.

Steve King has got things buzzing and Princes Park is the only place to be on home match days again.

I agree completely, which is pretty much the point I was trying to make.

And as M1 says, this is very probably Ryno's last season anyway.

Maidstone fans near me left to beat the traffic about 2 minutes before our first goal , I wonder how far they got before they found out that they hadn't won.

i dont understand how luke allen is winning the votes because when you see the highlights he was at fault for there second goal

To be fair, the ball travelled a long way with Dartford players back in position so the danger perhaps could have been dealt with. Luke lost out on that one but he won so many tackles and balls off them that is why he is top of the motm poll.

Also, I hadn't noticed Elliot's excellent head on for Macca to net our equaliser. One of many he won on Saturday.

Every time I see "Elliot" I keep thinking "But Bradders doesn't play for us any more" before the brain gets into gear.

Watching the highlights I have to say that was very unselfish from Norman. Superb assist.

I think when you see it, although when Luke's ball is poor and it did lead to their second, he actually was slipping at the time and kicked the ground as well as the ball.
And as for Norman, he's not the best player I've seen but did add to the forward momentum towards the end of the game.
Again, inspirational substitutions? Or just each Dartford player was so up for getting at Maidstone? Either way, I think SK was behind it. He's made a massive impact.
