Decent work out today against a quick Colchester side who lack firepower when they got to our 18 yard box , stand outs for me were Kudos who is direct , pacey and looking to score goals and Roast who looked calm and assured at centre back , reads the game really well and is vocal , is a real threat to our established centre backs , the rest were ok but ALL a bit " damp squib " !!

Upset about the serious injury to Andy Pugh , he will be a big miss but Jamie/Flan will need to get their skates on to replace him as 1st
league game only 13 days away !!!

I thought we were unlucky to lose to Colchester in a game that was totally overshadowed by that tragic injury to Pughy. Its always sad when a player is injured but more so in a meaningless pre-season friendly.

My First Pre-season look at the players. Very impressed with Billy Roast, together with Vint and Bonner
we have three fine centre backs shame 1 will miss out unless we decide to play 3 at the back, which seems to
be the modern way. Alfie Cue looked very lively until went off with what seemed a hamstring injury which could
keep him out for while. Very sad news about Andy's serious injury best wishes for a speedy and full recovery.

Tommy, pre season friendlies are hardly meaningless. It's about getting the players fit. Bit of a catch 22 with what has happened with Andy and Cue picking up a hamstring. I know we need to replace Andy because his intelligence up front made him that little bit special. But as things stand at the moment I don't think there will be a rush, as I am sure Adam and Jamie have players there for that role.
I understand though what you are saying.

Think Alfie just had a dead-leg.
