Not all players will be furloughed. I think you will find they have to have been employed by a certain date to qualify.

I take it the National league are able to continue because of the extra money they received compared to the north and south clubs. It would appear that we are not so elite anymore. It would be nice if we could receive a statement from the club letting us know what our situation is.

Disappointed with this outcome, I understand clubs clubs financially need fans but some fans have paid for season tickets and the chances are the season will be void now no thought of the fans who have paid out already

Please let's not start criticising our own club and people. They will do what is best and will keep us informed as and when. They will be doing thier very best for DFC as they always have done and always will do.

I would be very surprised if the club didn't want to complete the season and will make an announcement at the appropriate time.
But as discussions are ongoing i don't see how they can announce anything yet.

I never thought i'd say this but our "friend" from Dorking sums the situation up pretty well:-

Pedro wrote: Fri Jan 22, 2021 3:49 pm I suspect that even the best run clubs would struggle with a loan arrangement - even with a sugar daddy. There are a significant number of clubs that have no other income and prior to Covid were run hand to mouth by attendance income and fundraising and paying back a loan (over 10 years I believe) is not going to help even if that was interest free.

We started the season in the right way and grants enabled that and furlough has helped full time staff and players to an extent. Unfortunately we have to be realistic and the government or other funding in not bottomless pots. As much as I miss the football we have the bear in mind the taxes we and younger generations will have to pay.

Above all else, we do need to think of safety of players and staff at this time and few predicted that there would be such an uptick in infections right now - as with the rest of the world.
Pedro please understand I'm not playing Devils advocate but how much would it cost to furlough the players of all these teams. Could that possibly cost the government more ? I don't know but so much of this in the public domain is either Speculation or guessing. This needs to be discussed and for clubs to tell the league we are not going to fulfil fixtures surely is constitutionally wrong. For them to argue its for health and safety reasons now, then why have they been playing at all then ?

I think we are violently agreeing. I am all for clubs to get the same support from government as any other business impacted by this awful virus and like many other businesses the employees must come first. My point was more about so many handouts by the government will have to be paid back somehow.

It seems that the NL clubs 'unanimously' for the suspension and I am only aware of Maidstone wanted to continue but I do not know about the Darts. As someone has already said a number of clubs currently struggling for form voted in favour. With this current variant of the virus it does seem to affect younger people more and hence my comment about health and safety. I agree with you that the NL is a democracy and the majority seems to have ruled.
I do hope we can turn the tide of this virus and get back to the sport and team we love.

At the end of the day we don’t know what the clubs decision is at the moment and whatever they do decide it could well be out of their hands in the end anyway.
IF the club decided they wanted to carry on and the other clubs vote for end the season now then that’s what will happen which isn’t the clubs fault.
The board of directors will do what they think is best for the club but the final decision will be completely out of their hands.
Yes it is shit that quite a few of us have paid for season tickets and won’t get the full value of them games wise but I’m 100% certain that the club will look at that and will either put an offer to the fans regarding it or will look at it for next season.
We lost out last season albeit only 3 games I think it was where as there’s been 10 home fixtures so far this season leaving 10 home games left.
The club have a lot of decisions to make at the moment so let’s wait and see what happens, either way the club aren’t to blame.
