Whatever happens, people will flock in their droves if Kingy gets us up or not as the case may be. The run towards the abrupt end to the season showed that and I'm sure the gate would only get higher.

I will go further, we have hundreds of fans waiting in the wings to come back and watch us (I call them fickle) who simply want to be entertained and witness winning footy, we have that now. Ozy, you quite rightly say that our gates will rise on the back of the King effect.
In addition, our higher profile will encourage companies to invest in us, with our academy and public usage of 3G, golf and facilities, we are set up for a prosperous future, just need this poxy virus to do one.
Everything is so encouraging.

Ozy. I was never suggesting that season ticket holders be given priority, because it would be unlikely, but brilliant, if we had say 1000 ticket holders. What I was promoting was the fact that a large percentage of regular fans at Tranmere were in fact season ticket holders, and it would be superb if that culture could be taken on board by DFC fans. Historically, over the years the club has often not got the number of fans coming through the gates as it would have hoped. If we are successful in gaining promotion then we really need gates well in excess of the current 1000 breakeven point if we are to challenge in the National League. And now, with SK welcoming in a new era, is the time we all need to get behind the club. Season ticket sales is just one suggestion. I know not everybody can afford it and not able to attend every game, but it can be made affordable.
I'm just saying that the Tranmere board were very appreciative of the large number of season ticket holders which also further increased the exposure of the club nationally as it recovered from relegation and fought its way back into the Football League.
I am guessing in the short term, that PP could easily accommodate 1000 fans in the current Covid situation. There will also be fans who will still be very nervous of attending for a while yet.
I'm basing that number on say a pitch perimeter of 330 metres x 3 deep at 1m social distancing. So plenty of room for pay at the gate fans too, but initially it may be necessary for match tickets to be purchased on line in order for the club to control numbers.
Also Ozy, fully supportive of your own efforts and others who have contributed to the fundraising efforts of the DFCSA and the club during these extreme times.
We all want the best for our club.

I know that Pete, sorry if it came across like that, and I certainly wasn't looking for any plaudits for how I spend my money.
As said not everyone is in a position to spend to help the club. I remember being a youngster and not have two pennies to rub together but I made sure I had my gate money for each game. All 1/6p of it.
Also, getting people who can spend money for season tickets is a good idea. I'm not knocking it.
I do feel for you though Pete, three games a season!!!

Dover are anticipating being only allowed to admit 15% of their normal capacity, so fewer that 900. They have already decided that they are giving priority to season ticket holders, with everyone else having to purchase tickets at least 24 hours in advance and no admission through the turnstiles on the day. There will be no away fans. They are worried about their survival.
If that 15% figure is correct- they are awaiting confirmation- that would be around 600 allowed in Princes Park!

I don't suppose it will a standard percentage allowed in , mostly probably how each ground is configured. But at the most I would only expect it to be 25% at the most. Of course if we can come through on saturday we could get the odd match covered live on BT Sport. I suppose if it is only around the 6/700 mark and all or nearly all were season ticket holders a streaming service could be provided if allowed by the football authorities. I have no idea how much it would cost to lay on & what sort of income it would generate , doubtless the club is considering this in any case. Even if it only broke even at the very least it would keep fans connected and more likely to return when restrictions are lifted.

Dover fear they may close down by the end of the month unless they obtain more financial backing by the end of the month. Staff & players have been asked to take a temporary 20% wage cut, staff agreed players didn't. May be just a scare but could be the start of something more widespread as the weeks pass. Could be a headache for all leagues if clubs start to disappear or ask for demotion for financial reasons. It could be a long and winding road before the season starts, with the fallout continuing even after the season starts.

Now that we know where and (hopefully) when we will start playing again we can start making any changes to the team for next season. The Dover situation looked like it was unfolding earlier into the lockdown and so I think this was a bit of a gathering storm for them. It is inevitable that this situation may be facing many clubs and I wouldn't be surprised to see a few clubs enter into administration - we may see the top three/four getting into League 2 at the end of next season and several from each of NLS and NLN getting into the NLP - and so on.
Four our club (like so many) it will be the continued support of fans that keep's us alive and, I for one, would gladly pay the full season ticket price for example even at the risk of not seeing a large number of the fixtures.

I shall hold off renewing my season ticket until things are clearer. Not that I begrudge the club the money but if there is a limit on attendances I think it is better if they go to people who will be able to attend. I have a couple of outstanding medical problems (not serious) waiting to be sorted out so will miss some matches in any case. The years are going by so I am definitely in the vulnerable class should this thing not go away or re-emerge. Also feeling the cold these days so may miss games anyway. Instead I will be more than happy to donate to club funds and pay for entrance per match should the chance arise. Hopefully it will be back to the usual season ticket plus player fund donation situation for 21/22. The main thing is that the club pulls through this crisis and continue to play at the highest level that can be sustained. I remember that horrible season back in 92/93 not having a club to follow whose result really mattered, football in general is great, but having a team when the result affects one's mood for good or bad gives it that extra edge and meaning. Doubtless fans of teams all over the country are rallying around their clubs, who hopefully will all survive to play another day.
