Fans want to win and Steve King has the best record, it's as simple as that. Well done to the board on appointing the man most likely to produce the goods. Had they not selected the obviously best candidate, they would have laid themselves open to criticism and put added pressure on whoever they had appointed in his stead. There are no guarantees of course, but I see this as a bold decision and a statement of intent by our board. Steve King has been made aware of the budget and accepted the job on those terms. I believe those who fear that King will lead us astray financially are worrying unnecessarily because our board are too savvy to allow this to happen. Our club has already been resurrected from extinction once, and us older fans know that sensible budgeting and safeguarding the future is ALWAYS our number one priority. If the new manager comes back in a few months, demanding more than the club can afford then the board must simply say no and the fans will back them to the hilt. It's a smart move from the board because whatever happens, they can't be accused of not going for it. The people who felt that Flanners & Coyley didn't constitute the change they had called for will also be happy as King will bring the completely new and fresh approach that they wanted.
Off the field our club has been doing brilliantly and gates have held up well despite the disappointment on the pitch. Imagine what will happen if we start winning again.
I'm expecting a lot of upheaval and changes, but there's no doubt that the prospects are exciting.

Steve Irvings words today are perhaps some of the finest ever written in the history of the club. I want to thank the board for EVERYTHING they have ever done. Without them we wouldnt be here. From my angle we now have one of the finest setups in non league football.. Open to discussion I realise but today I believe is an enormous statement of intent.

I'm so pleased for all those fans who were getting moist over the opportunity to appoint Mr King - I hope that all their expectations are met and that we soar leaguewards pronto. Welcome on board Steve, lets get PP rockin'.

I find myself totally agreeing with Reginald on this one. The statement that Steve Irving put out today will in no doubt reassure all us Darts fans that this special club we all love is in very good hands. Reading his words, you could tell they were from the heart; by someone who loves this Club dearly; not the words of some rich bloke who sees a football club as some plaything? Makes you proud!
Oh yes! Welcome Steve King, excellent appointment by the board, a true statement of intent, and on the same day our friends down the road have departed with their Boss.

For King good news.

I’m overwhelmed.
Welcome to the King of Princes Park.
