Tony was a hero of mine when he was banging in the goals for us and you will find the same on the threads whilst he was in the hot seat. Are you not a TB lover ?

We are desperate at the moment, so until we find someone else we'll just have to make do with the greatest and most successful man ever to be associated with our football club.

I guess it could be worse.

Spot on Spike. Hopefully the contingency plan becomes Plan A this time around eh? Hopefully we will not have to settle for something less than what we already have.

Against a tide of populism pushing for change to get us away from a problem that nobody gave a second thought about until the minority started barking about how bad things were, perhaps just perhaps we will realise, although not perfect, we already have the best deal.

To be honest Mod, I don't think there's a cat in hell's chance of TB returning full time and for his own sake, I think that's probably for the best. I would rather the man remains a legend and continues to do so much positive stuff with the academy and such like behind the scenes.

I think it's important that the club widens the search this time and simply go for the best candidate. Ideally, someone with a bit of experience, a proven track record and some decent contacts. Someone who will be his own man. I don't think anyone truly believed that the club did that when they appointed the Flanners/Coyley combo. From the outset it always looked like a bit of a fudge, very few people bought into it and I fear it was always doomed to fail.

Cast the net wide and get the best man we can. That's all I would ask.

I agree Spike, I’ve gone along those lines in recent posts. I wouldn’t be disappointed though if he did go for it.

Couldn’t resist the parallel with current affairs sorry!

Perhaps there’s a Light at the End of the Tunnel coming. I’d love a Light at the End of the Tunnel. I’d probably even pay for one.

Well, if nothing else the players will fall into line now as they all to a man will have great respect for Tony, like the rest of us. When TB resigned most of us paid tribute to him and his legend status is intact, it always will be. His experience at this time is badly needed and I wish him well in trying to turn this teams rut around.

So another short chapter opens as our great club starts the road to recovery.

Oh and I wish JC & AF all the best for the future.

Loved the nod at our current political farce.

TB would be mad to want it full time again as he will just keep getting the stick even if he wins every game, there are some that just don't like him for whatever reason and dish it out mindlessly

when you look at his last season it wasn't the performances he could be moaned at for, it can't be because he hasn't tried hard enough for the club both on and off the pitch or that he hasn't given most of his life to the club

I sometimes wonder if it's just personal or if they're secret welling fans having a laugh, maybe they're just special - number 96 bus lads, ask the driver to let you off at park view road

Very true. I'm surprised after the start we have had we didn't have someone lined up, as it seemed with Laurel and Hardy it was just a matter of time.
