Gillingham have signed a player from Rangers, who says in an article on Kent Online that The Scottish Premiership is about the same level as League 1 so he doesn't see it as a step down. A Gillingham fan has sent in a comment that the SPL is rubbish, er it is at the same level as League 1 so the Gills are therefore also in a rubbish league, don't know where that leaves us down in the National South? I am sure he did not mean it quite like it sounds.

A lot of sport on the tv on Sunday & all o free to view, Wimbledon Men's Final, Cricket World Cup Final & the British GP. But I think BT Sport have the scoop of the day with live & exclusive coverage of the League Cup group fixture between St. Mirren & Dunfermline, a mouth watering prospect. Next Friday its Motherwell v Greenock Morton can hardly wait. :D

Riveting stuff Llamaman, have enjoyed your input. Any news on Stranraer by any chance. Only asking because they are the furthest South Scottish club and should really be in the English set up.
You know, I can't really believe I'm carrying this on. Maybe I should move back to Dartford. Maybe I should see a doctor.
If only it was August 6th.
Herne Bay have a friendly with Hemel Hempstead Tuesday evening (Formerly Concord Rangers) Maybe I should go.
Nah, feck that. :?

Well as you have asked. Stranraer played what was supposed to be their last pre-season game last Sat. against Premier League opposition, Irish Premier League that is, against Coleraine losing at Stair Park 1 -0 in front of a crowd of 364. However due to not having a group match in the League Cup, groups of 5 their turn to miss out, they arranged a friendly away to Benburb in Govan. Benburb are a junior team, not in age but status, that's just how they class teams in Scotland. Anyway they won 4 - 2 to put them in fine fettle for the visit of Berwick Rangers in a group league cup match next Saturday, so nearly in England will play actually in England. The following week they are at home to a Premier League side in Livingstone. But excitedly on the horizon is the visit of the winners of the Berwick Rangers v Rangers Colts tie in Tunnocks Caramel Wafer Challenge Cup (Iron-Bru last season) on 13th August. Tickets for that one are in demand & reportedly selling for up to half as much as face value on the black market. Its £12 to get in at Stranraer so if you fancy a trip up that will save a couple of quid off the extra travel expenses as against watching the Darts. By the way although I didn't watch it all through Hearts beat Dundee Utd. on penalties after ending 1 - 1 @ 90mins. Fast forwarding is very useful tool at times. A crowd of just over 9,000 turned up in torrential rain, not a bad effort taking the weather into account.

Well Ozymandias, who is the saddest. Me for writing this stuff or you for reading it and encouraging me on? Maybe there should be an on-line poll?
Yes the Tunnocks Caramel Wafer Challenge Cup is real and a great sponsorship deal as I now have the taste and a pack of the aforesaid delights are already on my shopping list for my next Supermarket shop, and I have a triple Nectar Points voucher, happy days.
Don't have any details of Third Lanark, anyway First and Second Lanark need researching first.
