That's a huge setback for the lad, but he's still young and has time to turn his career around.
Could be for some kind of twisted bet?

I get all the jibes and humour and I see where you are coming from. If it had been Saunders or Wheeler going in for him, I too would be thinking that way. But this is Still/Hayrettin going in for the lad. I suppose you could say that the lad wasn't on a contract and what have they got to lose? Bay have come out of it with a pre-season friendly. Wow!
Whereas, Maidstone may have a winner. We shall no doubt see next season, if he's still there.

The article on The Kentish Football site today about the problems at Herne Bay provide a different view of the events. Another club in some trouble, hopefully they can sort themselves out.

Truthfully, I think it's an inexpensive punt for a club that's in trouble. They've got very little to lose and he has everything to gain. I agree John Still doesn't get many wrong, but it's a huge jump up in class and as you say, only time will tell.

Living down here, Herne Bay FC have been in trouble for years, financially and on the pitch.

Yes Arty, the game lasted all of 8 minutes and was abandoned because of injury.

No, VCD guy fell awkwardly, back injury. He lay for almost an hour before an ambulance crew got to him. Don't know if they need a certain crew for those sort of things.
