Re: Kingstonian (H) FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round
Yes we were dreadful First half, poor marking, sloppy wayward passing, you name it we were guilty of it. Second half we improved and maybe could have snatched a draw? With Charlie and lee both out, we were severely lacking in both midfield and attack, I thought that Cameron Brodie at least deserved a start (was he injured as well)? Not a good start , and I like many of you feel gutted to have not at least been in the hat for the first round , as most of us expected to be? It would have been something to look forward to in otherwise another mediocre season, but it wasn’t to be so we move on to Saturday. This talk of removing six players and then naming them, I don’t think is helpful, and then talk of writing cheques for the right players and the board refusing?? What!!! This is all hypothetical, and any discussions about new signings and reshaping the team would of taken place at SKs interview; surely? SK did say that there is no quick fix and that we need to be patient, and players will be given their chance, and he also promised to guide this club to greater things .So on to Saturday and hoping for three points and a better performance? Onwards and upwards COYD….
Re: Kingstonian (H) FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round
Kingstonian were better than I expected and bossed the first half, although we did gift them two goals. Jordan Gibbons looked very rusty and what on earth was Luke Wanadio thinking with that ridiculous cross-field ball? Defensively we were all over the shop in the first half, but when we pulled it back to 1-3 the game wasn't over and I felt we were still in with a shout. As the game progressed we could easily have snatched it, but despite the second half revival, I felt our visitors were the better side overall and deserved the win.
Let's be honest, we are not very good.
TB worked some magic in the last few weeks, lifted morale and dragged us over the line a few times, but even he couldn't manage a home win. Even with all our best players fit and fighting, we haven't truly looked a good side since the season before last and with the extra absentees on Saturday, the team almost picked itself. I don't understand why a few people were complaining about not having any height up front as there simply wasn't anyone else available. Steve King has inherited this squad and many of them are on contracts until the end of the season so when it comes to recruitment, his hands are at least partially tied. As I see it, his task at the moment is simply to keep us up so that he can rebuild and mount a challenge next season. It is unrealistic to expect anything else because the damage was done when the club made the huge mistake of reappointing Coyle & Flan for a second season. The pair should have walked after the Eastourne debacle and having not done so, they should have had that decision made for them.
I have very high hopes for the future under SK, but for the moment I feel that we should appreciate this mess is not of his making and give the man our support as he strives firstly to ensure we stay up, whilst simultaneously building for next season's promotion push. In my opinion, that is all we can ask of the man at the moment. Anything else will be a bonus.

Just watched the 'high'lights. Bloody awful defending, Gibbons looked so lead footed. May have an excuse as to his game time? And their keeper also looked lead footed too.
To be fair Kingstonian deserved the win, took their chances. But then on the first the guy was running away from goal when he hit it with two Darts seemingly not trying to make a challenge. The second was just soooo amateurish in defending.
Good luck to Kingstonian in the next round.

At least Chichester go the bye.
Re: Kingstonian (H) FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round
The best tie is Sunderland v Gillingham, Steve Evans wanted to get a home draw against the weakest team. Instead he has a nice jaunt up to the North East to face little old Sunderland, and that weakest team he wanted have pocketed £36k without having to kick a ball. If the Gills do progress it will be the hard way.
Re: Kingstonian (H) FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round
I enjoyed Steve’s after match interview on Radio Kent. It was interesting to hear his analysis of what he was attempting to achieve with the team selection and the changes that were made as we attempted to claw ourselves back into the game from the 3-0 deficit. It was great to see different ideas employed even if it didn’t result in us pinching a draw at the end. Steve said he went with 2 ball players (Allen and Crook) in central midfield although he would have preferred one ball winner. So it was a little surprising that Cameron Brodie wasn’t used as that option. Apart from the error against Slough, he has been excellent this season and would probably have been a better option.
I’m looking forward to seeing the team take shape under our new management team and even with the majority of the same personnel I’m expecting changes to playing style and a gradual move up the league table. I tell you what would be nice; let’s make it difficult for us to be beaten at home. Fortress Princes Park is something we can all agree on.

I watched the draw on BBC2 and rather ungraciously hoped Kingstonian would be drawn away to Carlisle so Macclesfield is not that far off, but good luck to them.
