Arthur, the pills seem to be working. You're beginning to talk sense.

what a great result for us ,it was a shame that fat git stringer could not have been there to see our great win.another tireless game from noble and sam-yorke doing a lot of work up front but also getting back aswell.
Re: Chelmsford City (H) - Tues 7th August
I was sat in the stand beside two Chelmo supporters. You should have heard what they were saying about Sam-Yorke: "fouling all the time", "always falling over" etc etc. Made me wonder if we were watching the same game. Mind you, the number of fouls the ref gave against him, maybe he thought the same. Reminiscent of Duane Ofore Acheampong: just because you're a big lad, you must be fouling.Nobby2 wrote:what a great result for us ,it was a shame that fat git stringer could not have been there to see our great win.another tireless game from noble and sam-yorke doing a lot of work up front but also getting back aswell.

Well we finally did it, with a lot of hard work & no little skill. Certainly gives hope that we will at least be vying for the play-offs, early days & a long way to go but a good solid start. The Chelmo forum generally accepts we were worth the win, but a couple complaining about our continual fouling. I wont argue as over the years I think they are well qualified to comment on that part of the game from first hand experience, especially the master himself, Chris Bush. The ref. was a bit odd, not particularly bad, but he let some plenty of hard dodgy tackles go, but was happy to whistle for when there was the merest contact. Still he didn't go card mad & the couple he dished out were well worth it & sorted the argy bargy out quite calmly.
Cannot give an opinion on the dust up from my seat, only a rear view of the City boss, but it has amused me that in the Manager's notes written by Adam he calls for discipline in matches. Still he hasn't managed to outshine his dad Mike, who had a proper punch-up with team mate Derek Hales during a match whist playing for Charlton.

Mr Ozymandias I thank you dear boy.
24 hours since the final whistle and still feeling on cloud 9. Not simply for beating Chelmsford but the positivity around. If anyone gets chance to speak to any of the team or the management pairing you cannot be anything but impressed with the way they conduct themselves. No waffle, speaking frankly about what is going on and the way forward. I want to mention Tom Bonner. Tom has been an inspiration for a long time and now having been given the Captains armband is proving to us all how proud he is to be leading this great club and following on after a legendary skipper.
Tom has had a brilliant football career but I for one feel so much joy that after the club's he has been too (one in particular) he states just how proud he is to be Captain of DFC. Thanks Tom for everything in your years at the club and watching you last night I can't quite believe my eyes that it was possible to go up further levels. Absolutely brilliant. And whilst mentioning that I mean no detriment to any other player in the squad you have all been tremendous in the opening couple of victories in two very tough ties.
Thank you lads

I don't quite agree with Llamamon above ("The ref. was a bit odd, not particularly bad, but he let some plenty of hard dodgy tackles go, but was happy to whistle for when there was the merest contact.") I thought the referee had a very good game. He dealt with issues quickly and firmly and brought out cards when appropriate. If all referees are that good this season, I for one won't be complaining.
I'm not sure if this has been mentioned but, if you bought a programme Tuesday night, on the Player Sponsors pages, doesn't Alfie Cue look remarkably like Elliot Bradbrook? They could well be identical twins.
Roll on Saturday.

Have to agree, thought the ref had a good game, and also that James Philpot goes to the same hairdresser as Andy Pugh. I thought that Chez Issac played a similar role to Alex Brown, the simple ball, but effective. Without being in your face.
No poor performance anywhere on the pitch and the save that Deren made towards the end probably would have broken my arm.
Enough said, Roll on Saturday.

Brief highlights on the League site, but no fight club scene. Young Jamie may have been unlucky with his offside 'goal', he seemed to have run a long way to get onto the ball, but of course the action is shown from an angle, & we did win anyway.

Agree with what's been said.
Special mention to Ben in the first half and his turn on the left side which left the defender for dead was pure class.
Also why were the lights in the stand (bar side) not on?
Great result and 6 points in the bag.
