I just hope we dont let this great opportunity in employing Steve King pass, we may not get another opportunity like this. People are suggesting that Jay Saunders may be the choice, but to me that would be the equivalent of Arsenal choosing Neil Harris instead of Pep Guardiola. Other candidates of course I'm sure but I for one are really hoping Steve King is given the role. Play off Hopes look distant to I and I guess to many, but hes done it before at clubs and I wouldnt rule the play offs out if King was made the manager.

Don't get your hopes up too much Reg I don't think he has any chance of getting the job,but I might be wrong.

Play-off hopes look distant? Obviously, we would have to rely on others to slip up, but three good wins would instill confidence and that would put us right back in the mix. It's twelve games for pity's sake, we've got another 30 left to play. A long way to go.
But admittedly it would all be down to a new manager and getting that confidence. If you had said that to TB now he would probably say the same.

A couple of supporters both said to me Saturday about ambition. If DFC were constantly in this state of limbo, mid table conference south, people would vote with their feet. We need not only to get back amongst the elite but to even higher levels.

Blimey Ozy when I was saying we were only a few points behind when Jamie and Adam were in charge you and others shot me down in flames. Anyhow that's done and dusted I know but we all know it needs a shake up, and hey only in my tiny mind I think the only way to do that is with this chance that is staring the board in the face.

Of course the main theme of talk on here is about playing budget, but there is the management budget to be considered as well. A new manager will want to bring in his own people so the total cost of the complete package may be too much. It is easy to talk about progress so pay to get the best, we went along that route in the 1980's with John Still and Peter Taylor, fun while it lasted but the ending was anything but. A lot of the current board , like many of us, lived through that so maybe their caution is understandable. I'm glad I don't have to make the decision or be responsible for the running of the club. Only a few days and all will be revealed, perhaps if we win some more cup prize money on Saturday it will help the decision one way or another. Guaranteed £3,750, a win is worth £17,500 with the chance of more to come.
