I expect the main requirement will be keeping to the budget. I have no idea how things stand at present, maybe Steve King is weighing us up as well as vice-versa. We have players on contract who he would not be able to just get rid of to be replaced by others in an instant. I will just wait and see who will finally be installed in the job, but will wish them the best of luck.

No, that's the main requirement for the directors. The manager will know the budget when he accepts the job. He can't overspend unless the board allow him to, so he only really has one job and that's to win football matches.

Exactly, it's what I've said all along. No manager can bankrupt a club.

Hope Powell's out then.

What does the wider requirements actually mean ?

Surely only the job of the first team manager is to win games?

There are several behind the scenes who concern themselves with the wider club requirements including TB.

Reggie is seriously not a forum lover but Reggie accepts peoples views. Parkie was hinting I believe and he will correct me if I'm wrong but in my opinion the second best person in non league football and those that can take DFC to the league is Steve king. My first choice is TB. That's how good Steve King is. I plead with the board and fans to trust in him. Who knows what what may lay ahead. So look at his CV. Otherwise what point is a CV ?

Lennylenny wrote: Thu Sep 26, 2019 5:10 pm Think that’s irrelevant as he was Welling s manager under contract. He has taken Lewes to conference, whitehawk to play off final and Welling, got farnboro promotions and fa cup runs with other clubs like Maccasfield. It seems to you have something personal against him , unless your view is based on football , I think it’s not healthy for club at this time.
Someone may prove me wrong but I believe I am correct in saying that whatever club Steve King has been in charge for 1 whole season the least that club achieved was to reach the play offs. His knowledge of players EUROPE wide cannot be bettered at our level. We need to move away from any Kent angled manager. What I mean by that is a manager that Will get the players to not only get us out of the conference south but have a tilt at reaching the football league. This man is wanted by so many clubs, and he could go to those clubs. But no he wants I believe to join our great club because of its stature and we can all enjoy this journey
together.

I'm not sure any Boston Utd fan will agree with that statement Parky!! Aka a certain Mr Steve Evans, he should have served time for that. He somehow escaped jail but the Chairman didn't!!

My keeping within the budget post was a bit lazy really. Should have said provide the best side they can within the budget, without continually asking for more money and throwing their toys about when refused. Of course there may be special requirements when a request for more funds may be made for the board to consider. Steve Evans was highly involved with Boston's downfall, but I can't believe he did it all by himself. Officials must have helped cover up how bad the financial was and agree to all the spending.
Have learnt a lesson, don't be lazy, it will save time later.
