A really good point.

In terms of salary we employed 2 managers before so hopefully we can afford a decent salary with 1 manager.
As for the budget I wouldn’t have a clue other than they did back the previous managers as best as possible, I hope it’s enough to attract the right man.

In terms of budget, it might come down to what is left to play with. I mean, how much room is there for a new manager to shape his squad this season?

Three financial considerations- what salary does the new manager expect for himself and any other staff, what budget does the new manager feel is necessary for playing staff and , linked to that, to what extent does he feel the current playing staff is adequate. If he wishes to bring new players in this season, presumably others will have to leave and this can only happen if they are not on contract or agree to go.

Its simple really surely. Can you work within this budget Yes/No
This is the maximum wage we pay. Still interested Yes/No
If it's not a Yes/Yes then it's a non goer. Surely is it not then the person with the best record of success. Why would you not want the best manager available who has the best CV. Why would you possibly pick someone who's CV doesn't come close to anothers

Mr K. If the answers to those 3 questions were yes im interested wages are fine and the budget is good enough for me then would you not then employ the man whose track record was much better than the next ?

Yep totally agree. That’s why I think it will be King and Wilkinson a very close second.

I trust our board to Get a better fit this time.
Whoever they choose hopefully they go for experience and
Success at this level.
The last experiment was an eventual failure, due to lack of these qualities so hopefully they have taken this on board.
We must get away from the bottom asap and who knows if we can get it right then the play offs are not beyond us!

Also I see 2 questions.

Steve Kings wages wont be the problem if he takes over as manager talk to fans of clubs who he has managed and more or less the same answer will come back as he likes to pay his players well.

When Tony Burman was at the helm, there were rumours of a number of players being touted about as possible signings, and I am sure that some of those players were interviewed and rejected; not because they were not up to the standard, some were probably of an exceptional quality, but a number were shown the door with a “no thank you”!
So you have to ask any employer, when you interview someone, it is not necessary the person with the most impressive CV that gets the job ,there are other factors you have to take into consideration such as, personality, Attitude, egoism, and any other character traits that might come to mind ?
Now I am not saying that Steve King is not the best candidate, and I am definitely not questioning his suitability, and yes he has by far the most impressive CV. But when you say it’s simple I have to disagree, because we has fans are not privy to any other information that the board may have regarding those applying?
So what I am really trying to say is that we just have to trust the board on this, I am sure the feedback that they are getting from the fans is that Steve King is the fans preferred choice , and maybe that may go some way towards their final decision? We wait with bated breath!!
