They probably thought that they could" move together" with Jamie & Adam but at some point somebody needs to realise that WINNING matches is actually the most important role of any manager. Somewhere along the line this seems to have been pushed down the list in our order of priorities. Whether we like it or not, it is abundantly clear that some people perceived the previous appointment as being a "safe" or even "weak" decision. I hope we don't give them the opportunity to level that same accusation again.

Spot on Spike, i am sick to death of this attitude as the most important factor is the best manager available at the time.
We have a very well run club so they should be able to manage any new appointment whoever they are. We are also set up so no one person can take control or put us in financial trouble so if the board are worried about this are they not doubting themselves?

Whilst i accept that nobody can guarantee how any appointment will work out if we appoint the manager with the best CV that gives us the best chance and if we start winning games we will all be able to "move together" and that will be up the bloody league table.

Well, it would seem one of the most obvious questions to be asked by the board of any prospective manager is that are they able to work within the budget set by the board. If they are not able to, then things aren't going to work out. We have had managers move on in the past because they wanted a bigger budget than we could afford. Wasn't John Still one of those?
For whatever reasons, many clubs above our level are struggling financially. Bury, Bolton, Gateshead, Ebbsfleet, Notts County, Macclesfield etc and players not paid.
At least Tony Burman always operated within the boundaries the club could afford, and did it successfully, and will know what is affordable now, on crowds of 1000.
Interesting that at our last home game, which clashed with the Ebbsfleet game, and with both teams struggling at the time, the Darts had a bigger crowd than Ebbsfleets crowd of I think 865.

I await with interest, especially as we don't yet know the names of everybody who has expressed interest.

Steve King wants to take Dartford into the football league. He is our best chance of achieving that.

If that's true then that'll be him excluded from the directors list of possibles.

Well interestingly the Billericay managers job has been made available today with Harry Wheeler being placed on gardening leave.
It is likely that both clubs are looking at a similar pool of managers, unless of course Tamplin returns to the manager role supported by Jamie O Hara.
No doubt Tamplin would be interested in Steve King and Jay Saunders if looking for a permanent manager.

He must be kicking himself having let Brennan leave and seeing his Wealdstone team performing so well.

Now Billericay show how interference from above really works. Steve King there would be very interesting and hard to imaging lasting very long however things were going on the field. From a T.B. interview on Kent Online 4 days of morning training is in the offing, and how possible ground expansion is detailed in 'Princes Among Men' book. Add that to our less volatile setup and any candidate deciding between the 2 may see the Darts as the better option.

Bit worried about the tone of a lot of the posts on here - it looks like the board are in for a tough time if they don't appoint SK, however, there are a number of factors that have to fall our way - is he interested? can we give him the budget he wants? can we afford him? - with the best will in the world the board is not in total control of the situation.

I think the Board are in total control mick. King is an outstanding candidate far better than we could hope . The Board merely have to make their best terms and conditions to King and it will be his choice to say yes or no

I think most posters accept finances may be a barrier to obtaining the services of a new manager and the club's financial stability is paramount.
There may be some complaints about their handling of the change after T. B., but not of the way they handle the budget.
