New Manager Nomination Form
Re: New Manager Nomination Form
Not sure what you meant by that. I took it to mean you would like King, but thought the board would not choose him hence everyone would be disappointed, but Park Life took it to mean you don't like the idea of King being manager and are suggesting that if we do appoint him, THAT will end in tears. Looking at your post again, I agree it could be taken either way.
Which did you mean?

All this talk about Steve King is positive, but on a negative note he hasn't stayed long anywhere in the recent past.

What our club doesn't want is a manager to leave after 2 years of relative success, which I'm sure with his record he would be.
If our new manager who ever he is, is successful i really want him stay and build on that success and not leave us.

I actually meant that if you wish for something too much you may not get it and then you will be in tears. Personally I don't have a favourite for the job.spike wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2019 8:22 pmNot sure what you meant by that. There are never any guarantees in football, Managers and Players come and go, but supporters are for life. We will never know all the facts regarding Steve King’s previous employment record, and maybe he has got some skeletons hidden away in his cupboard; we will never know? But you cannot dispute he’s managerial CV and the success he has brought to those clubs he has managed? But the final decision is down to our board, and I am sure they will scrutinise every applicant and ultimately choose who they feel will be the appropriate candidate to take our club forward?Happy chappy wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2019 8:03 pmYes I'm fully aware of this article from 2008, but all i was saying was Steve King in recent years hasn't stayed anywhere very long and obviously i don't know why.Capricorn25 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2019 6:38 pmThis is well worth a read before we Judge ?Happy chappy wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2019 3:33 pm All this talk about Steve King is positive, but on a negative note he hasn't stayed long anywhere in the recent past.

But it amazes me that you feel any manager will even get two years if your views on Tony Burman are to be believed?

Re: New Manager Nomination Form
Steve King wants to take Dartford into the football league. He is our best chance of achieving that. People are making accusations and talking "skeletons" why ? Goodness me has the onslaught started before anyone has the vacancy. Steve King makes it look like that he must have a huge budget to work with simply because of his knowledge and his links. Believe me has has contacts to bring in good players to DFC like no other.
Re: New Manager Nomination Form
Pretty much everyone agrees that King has the most impressive track record and the only argument I've heard against him is that he supposedly gets clubs into financial trouble by overspending. If you think about it, that is impossible. The only people who can do that are the directors if they allow it to happen. There are some people saying we should keep quiet and trust the board to get the right man. If they trust our board enough to do that, why don't they trust them enough to keep control of the purse strings? As Park Life pointed out to me the other day, no manager has ever got a club into financial trouble, that can only be done by the directors if they allow it to happen.
Anyway, I still think they'll go for Saunders.

But his list of achievements are nothing like Steve Kings. How would that be justifiable to the fans Spike ?
