Re: New Manager Nomination Form
Now is the time for everyone who truly cares for the club to rally round. TB has white and black pumping through his body, after many years managing the first team he decided to step down. He is a major plus to how the academy sides are progressing, his legend status intact.
I would agree with my fellow fans calling for the best manager available - one with a track record and one that has been thoroughly interviewed for the role and really 'wants it'.
Board it is over to you!

El Kebabus Steve king fits points 1 and 3. The interview hasn't taken place yet
Re: New Manager Nomination Form
This thread is about the new manager is it not ? Still people are going on about Jamie and Adam and what may have happened and what they said etc ... its finished. If as everyone is suggesting that it was down to them and didnt have anything to do with Tony then that chat is surely superfluous. Move on. They are no longer at the helm. Why not chat about the way forward

Re: New Manager Nomination Form
Steve King was at the game yesterday as a commentator on the Dorking Twitter site, I wonder!
Re: New Manager Nomination Form
He was doing it as a favour for his friend who is away on holiday and connected with Dorking.
Re: New Manager Nomination Form
I'm sure there are plenty of managers to interview in due course, other than the ones already mentioned. How do you know he is the best candidate?
Re: New Manager Nomination Form
Of course it impossible to know he is the best candidate from the angle that you are hinting at Gary. (I.e how do I know who has applied) Obviously if Pep Guardiola was to be an applicant he wouldn't. But moving away from that attempt and given his track record, I believe that it is unlikely to find a better man outside the football league who is currently available.
Re: New Manager Nomination Form
I have had one choice in mind all along and IMO the best candidate by a mile is STEVE KING.
We can't guarantee how the next appointment will work out but his track record is very good and i feel it will be a missed opportunity if we don't appoint him. I know he wants the job and the club is run by very sensible people so we would keep within our means but i'm still sure we can provide him with the necessary funds. I have spotted him at several of our games so he knows our current squad already but for those that want somebody from outside he ticks that box as well. He knows this level of football really well and has numerous contacts to assemble a very competitive team. IMO there is nobody available who is a better candidate.
I really hope the board don't make a decision based on who they like/the nicest guy, we must appoint the BEST candidate and for me that is King.
I will be the first to admit that when we played against his teams i use to give him stick but the only reason was that his teams were a bloody pain in the a**e to play against so if he does get the job i will be the first to apologise to him

For me the board must appoint the BEST candidate and that is STEVE KING.
GIVE KING THE CROWN

Re: New Manager Nomination Form
I would expect there will be many candidates from many different stages in their careers. Whilst Steve King is a strong candidate there are many others such ex league managers Steve Lovell who did a great job last year at Gillingham before being replaced. In addition to the likes of Jamie Day who may want to work closer to home ! Or Chris Kinnear etc a difficult task for the board in our current position.
