If hiring a vastly experienced manager brings success on the pitch then it'll be a worthwhile investment. In paying the salaries of not one, but two managers of lesser experience has been akin to chucking money down the drain.
Surely it would be in the club's interest long term to take on someone who is well versed and respected at National League level.

But ironically the board report to the shareholders and guess who they areMike Perfect wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2019 9:49 am We are all Supporters of this Club. Luckily, I would say, we are not the Board , making the decisions for the whole Company.

Also the supporters association raise vast sums of money and based on the way the club is set up and the historical reasons for it I would say the supporters are far more important to our club than arguably most others.
I would say though that the board have done a fantastic job behind the scenes and we have a great club, if we can make the right managerial appointment we could be looking at a very good period for the club.

Bobby Wilkinson has been widely touted and has an impressive record, could be answer

Undoubtedly Tony will be caretaker - who else is there? My worry is that the board will take the easy option and give Tony the job till the end of the season - he will then be in post forever, which really isn't a positive step.

Re: New Manager Nomination Form
It would seem the sensible thing for TB to come in and stabilise the ship until an appointment is made, especially in view of upcoming FA Cup and FA Trophy ties as the competition progresses. We are in need of a morale boosting run after a couple of disappointing seasons. I have confidence that we will now soon start climbing the table.
I agree with Spike that I expect the squad to respond with a positive reaction to recent events, given there have been spells in games such as 2nd half v HH where is seemed we had the upper hand, but in short bursts. Just need to convert that level to future games. Amazing how much confidence is the key to success, and that seems to have been lacking this season. Recent penalties, both for and against, spring to mind as just one example!
As to who comes in, I really don't know. Many managers, such as Andy Hessentaller, seem to move around the country very quickly, South West one minute, Barrow the next, back to Kent. DFC were fortunate TB was living locally and able to put his all into the club, which I am sure, contributed massively to his long and successful tenure in the role previously.
Who will pay for travelling, hotel accommodation if required, long hours on the road to even get to PP if home is not local? Of course, it will be the club which picks up the bill eventually. What I wouldn't want is to become one of those clubs with a high turnover of managers.
It won't be an easy decision for the Board, that's for sure.

Re: New Manager Nomination Form
This is a very acid like thread for me. Fortunately the two jumped before they got a shove and probably left the board with a huge headache. I don't envy them at all.
To be honest, I have no one in mind. Or should I say the one I wanted before the duo turned up is now at Maidstone and did wonders over the river on a small budget.
But will he leave John Still to come here. Alas, No.

I can’t see why Tony would take the job again after the exasperating lack of recognition he got for the job he did in his last couple of seasons from sections of the fan base.
Perhaps he might for a few weeks.
I’d hope we’d be a pull for the likes of Jay Saunders.

I hope for the boards sake they just put the 60+ applications from last season in the litter bin so can be retrieved, and not through the Shredder??
