What others did doesn’t make any difference. It’s like saying I throw a 6 once that increases the chance of throwing a 6 next time.
We need the right person. Singular! Why should it matter if he has links to the club? It’s discriminatory as much as it’s ridiculous to overlook them on that basis.
I know one man that I would back to get this squad promoted but to be honest I wouldn’t blame him if he were to avoid the job like the plague.
He could bring in an assistant with a view to taking over in the National next season, but like I say, I don’t think he’d take it after his last lengthy stint.

Alan Devonshire - if he would take a drop down of course. Nobody who managed Ebbsfl££t - unless it was Daish. John Still - but unlikely to leave Maidstone.
I do wish Coyle and Flan all the best for the future, they did give it their best but simply not good enough. Decent guys who did and do deserve a break but the Darts demand more. TB was always going to be a tough act to follow and I don't think the Board were wrong to go for a coaching team close to the Club. Lessons learnt - now for someone with proven experience so long as he does not make the club live beyond its means.

Many thanks. I'll go with that. Cunnington is on his 4th yellow now.The 5th Searcher wrote: ↑Tue Sep 03, 2019 9:47 pmI think it was Cunnington, Luke Allen & Noble who all got booked.180 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 03, 2019 9:31 pm Does anyone know what other DFC player was booked tonight please?. GC said Cunnington, then he thought it was Noble, but then Noble really got booked. In the grand scheme of things, I don't care if nobody knows & couldn't give a toss, but would be nice to find out. Attendance was 816. Thanks.

No problem, it’s not a surprise but his booking was harsh tonight it was more a tangle of legs.
He had to be subbed before he was sent off though.

Well, whatever went wrong these two have made a complete hash of it.
I am glad they have gone, because we are in deep sh*t ,fortunately we have 30+ games to Get out of trouble.
Hopefully we can get someone in who can get the best out
of his squad.

I think sometimes our fans don't get the credit they deserve and tonight proved how good they are.
They carried on supporting the team right until the final whistle even after another disappointing result.
As for the game, we had some good chances but again only really had a decent 15-20 minute spell in the second half and lost to a team who i think will be at the lower end of the table. Of course now our situation has changed i believe we have a squad of players who are capable of taking us up the table.
MOTM Mark Smith by a country mile.

Interesting tweet from Sam Yorke considering his poor performances last season

Re: Tonbridge Angels (A)
I am so mightily relieved that Flanners & Coyley have gone. I have nothing against them personally and I will always be grateful for what they achieved as players, but their departure from the management role was in the best interests of our club. Last season started with catastrophic recruitment and ended in complete meltdown. They should have fallen on their swords after the debacle at Eastbourne but not having done so, the board should have made that decision for them. To subsequently renew their tenure and reward them with an increased budget was just plain bonkers in my opinion. This season started with some very promising signings, but it soon became apparent that the managers were incapable of translating this into improved performances or results on the pitch. In fact everything has continued in exactly the same way as it did last term. It would have been lovely if it had worked out but it didn't. The simple facts are that they have taken us from 2nd from top to 2nd from bottom and overall I think their tenure was an unmitigated disaster.
I am grateful that the board have come to their senses and made this decision early as there is still a chance we can salvage the season. I think we have a very strong squad of players here and if the right man is appointed then I think we can do pretty well. All I ask is that we ditch this "Dartford way" nonsense and just go with the best candidate that we can get. We invite applicants, tell them what they have to work with and then pick the best INDIVIDUAL from those that want the job. We have a great club and off the pitch we are doing fantastically well. We just need someone to get the first team back on track asap.
The mood of despair has been lifted. I am really optimistic and for the first time in a long time am really looking forward to the game on Saturday.
Oh and tonight's MOTM has to be Mark Smith, without whom we would have conceded 5 or 6.

So alas one chapter ends and another opens. What the club has to do now is take a step back, advertise the job and choose wisely. We have a fantastic set up, facilities second to none and an interesting project. We require experience and a strong leader.
I do care deeply about the club and I’m like all fans, we want the feel good factor back.
Board, please choose carefully and wisely, learn from this mistake.

Tonbridge deserved their victory they were the much better side and only Mark Smith kept the score down. Poor Alex Flisher showed why he is not a full back but he did have a great shot at the Tonbridge goal first half, perhaps they should have kept him on second half as a forward. Coyle and Flanners two good Dartford players but piss poor managers though the only luck they had in the job was bad luck. The opinion on the coach is that TB will take over as caretaker Manager so that gives the board the time to pick hopefully the right man.
