Tonbridge Angels (A)

Post by Harry »

Radio Kent described this fixture as an early relegation 6 pointer. Hardly inspiring...........

Not the kind of feedback and comment Dartford fc should be receiving. Still we are where we are and it's another 3 points to fight for. Will be cheering on the lads from afar but not happy at all to hear about the unrest and a player that should be playing left back, not at the club.

It's going to be a proper Tonbridge v Dartford local Derby , whatever Team each Club is able to put on the Pitch !.
Each fanbase will expect 'Do or Die, because it matters. I was both glad about the point yesterday, and because we were able to exploit that HH were unable to react to our change of pace, and 'old style Dartford' attitude in the last quarter.

Because it's the Dartford way, I am not surprised, that any rumoured Dressing Room discord has remained there during these troubled times, for all or any. Respect is a Club ethos.

WE can be great Tuesday evening. All of Us. It's never always pretty, but we are one hell of a Football Club. bottom line.

Strange how most of us feel we have a very good squad yet very few have any confidence that we will see any significant improvement any time soon. I think the best way to sum it up at the moment is that the whole is significantly less than the sum of all its parts.

I'm not going to be disrespectful and insult two decent guys who did great things for us as players and I've got no axe to grind with Jamie and Adam personally, I just don't believe they are the right guys for the job. Arthur Horsfield knows how I feel, we are not really that far apart in our views, we just differ over how and where we express them. I really don't enjoy being a critic, in fact I hate it, but I do feel that to support the managers out of some sense of misguided loyalty and prolong what I believe to be inevitable, is in my view detrimental to the long term success of our football club.

Whatever happens though, I'll still be there every week and as soon as the game kicks off I'll be cheering on our team. See you all on Tuesday.

I think there were promising signs in the 2nd half against Hemel Hempstead which makes me optimistic for a win against Tonbridge.

I'm looking forward to this game as it is on my doorstop, I actually have a soft spot for the Angels, they have worked very hard to get back to this level against the odds. Looking on their website I didn't realize that we have lost 7 of our last 8 away games, scoring 6 and conceding a massive 26 goals in the process. No wonder the Angels fans fancy their chances and who can blame them. I think if we lose this one it could well see the end of our management team, not a nice thing to say but this is a results driven business and I would expect Chris Kinnear to be watching very closely, especially as he lives just down the road from PP. Personally, I think that we will get something out of the game, especially if we field the same team that finished on Saturday. On the downside, a win will probably prolong the inevitable.

A friend of mine played in Goal for Chris Kinnear at Dover. In fact he was between the sticks in the Dover V Crystal Palace cup match. A decent man and a very good keeper. He played for them on loan from Hartlepool. At the start of the next years pre season he phoned in on a monday morning complaining of a stomach ache and he wouldn't be able to get there. Kinnear told him he had to train and still repeated that after Andy told him once again he couldnt. So he got himself in and had to complete a training session. Three hours later he was rushed to A and E to have an emergency Appendix operation. The man is a dinosaur whose man management skills are awful. Anyhow once again shouldn't we be supporting our current team managers. People will say here goes Arty again but I will continually say it to all. We support and leave the rest to the powers that be. Now it's down to Tonbridge a lovely ground to launch an assault to climb the table. We win and Chelmsford lose tonight we would be 1 point behind them. Are they in crisis not according to some Chelmsford fans I speak to. So putting it all into perspective a few good wins will do us well. Do the forum members want DFC to win tomorrow. Umm I reckon some fans dont want their club to win. Crazy crazy crazy. Basically everybody come on let's support everyone at the club. Let's go down there tomorrow and try our best to help. It's the club we love.
