No one is saying that they wasn't good players for us and yes everyone that remembers that era would have been cheering them on (me included) the problem is that they are really struggling to become good managers.Iris Murdoch wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2019 9:04 pmDo you think that referring to two respected ex Dartford players as 'clowns' constitutes expressing an opinion ?UpTheDarts wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2019 8:21 pmI've put numerous positive posts on here, it's a shame people only pick up on my 'negative' onesBANANA BANANA wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2019 2:14 pm I would be surprised if up the Darts is even a Dartford fan.
Banana Banana you're an idiot. EVERY single comment I make you decide to make a snide remark on. Even when you see my name mentioned you take a dig at me.
A forum is a place to post my opinion, clearly I'm not allowed to do that here so maybe i'll never post again
I would suggest that it is a puerile insult which some might consider emanates from an obnoxious persona.
Did you cheer on Jamie Coyle when he helped Dartford Football Club gain promotion from the Rymans North and also Rymans Premier leagues? Did you cheer on Adam Flanagan as he led Dartford Football Club, as captain, to promotion from the Rymans Premier league. Did you support Dartford then? Please 'upthedarts' carry on posting but do try and be constructive, articulate and considerate.

And there, in a few words, is I think the crux of the whole problem.

I think what Iris is saying that we are all entitled to an opinion but surely we can express it without resorting to insulting language.
Nobody deserves that

Yes, and that by itself is a very valid point with which I wholeheartedly agree, but that wasn't ALL Iris was saying. Whether or not people cheered them on when they were playing for us has absolutely no relevance to whether or not they are doing a good job now. Having some credit in the popularity bank may buy you some extra time, but they surely used that up when they got reappointed for another term after last year's spectacular end of season collapse. Indeed many would argue that they only ever got the job in the first place because of their past achievements as players.
I'm all in favour of being constructive, articulate and considerate, but I would add relevant to that list.

I acknowledge that the current management of Dartford has been poor. I also agree that AF and JC's previous records have no relevance in assessing how well they are doing the job.
My referral to their past records was simply to highlight how some chaps are very fickle and infantile in their comments. Their popularity may have declined but does that warrant disrespect and abuse?
I believe it is unnecessary and does not advance any meaningful dialogue.
