What I love about DFC is the unwavering faith instilled by its constituents - on this forum, in the stands and behind the scenes. It really is excellent support which isn’t there for all clubs at our level. The nadir that DFC is experiencing at present would put most off, yet there are so many tireless individuals who turn up week in, week out, regardless of how things are going on the pitch. It’s this core which will see us through this awful phase.
I’m still not personally convinced that the squad we’ve assembled is stronger than last season’s (easy to say, but I did suggest this before a ball had been kicked this season), but I still feel that we are misrepresented by our results and league position.
Well done to our representatives today and I sincerely hope that everyone who commits further to the Braintree game next Saturday is justly rewarded with a decent result. Whatever happens there, I’ll be back for the next one. Keep whatever faith you still have.

Teemu Pukki on a free from Bromley, I was amazed, a guy in non-league football snapped up by Norwich City ( I know, they did get Abou and Cody from us),, but still banging in goals in the Premier.
Then I realised he was from FC Bronby in Sweden.
Just thought I'd say that.
I could say a lot more. Braintree next up and I think this will be interesting as the manager there has a team made up of lower league players who by the look of their 5 goal win yesterday look to be full of players that want to give this National South a go.

Did we travel all the way to Weymouth in hope rather than expectation? No, not really. The general consensus on the terraces before the game was that there was little or no hope and we confidently expected to get beaten heavily. Yet the fans travelled anyway. Please don't tell me that these supporters don't care or that they want their club to lose. These people are dedicated and loyal and many of them have been coming for decades. They might have a moan on the forum and they'll probably all argue about how to fix things, but they'll still be here dipping into their pockets every week, long after the current crop of players and managers have gone.
Were there any positives yesterday? Yes. On this occasion most of our players didn't give up and we were still battling away at the end and as a consequence we nicked a consolation goal. Us fans appreciated that, but it doesn't change the fact that once we went a goal behind defeat looked inevitable. Most of us agree that we have a decent squad of players but there is little or no structure to how we are playing and we looked clueless at times. Please don't tell me that this is all because the fixture list has been unkind to us, we have 42 games and they are all going to be bloody difficult playing the way we are and in my opinion there is something seriously wrong in the camp. It was nice to see all but one of the players come over to the fans at the end of the game. We need to stick together as I think those that genuinely want to be here could be quite successful given the right direction.
MOTM isn't easy. Nobes is Nobes so will always figure in the voting and Cunnington deserves a medal for not storming off in frustration, but I actually voted for Luke Warner-Eley who typified the never-say-die attitude that we are going to need to get something out of this season.

As a lazy good for nothing, who would rather watch TV Soccer, rather than trek down to Weymouth in the rain. I certainly have no valid comment on the Game. -But, I do recognise a true and unemotional Post that seems to reflect my own beliefs about our situation, the Squad, and the DFC heritage and following.
Thanks Spike. Sometimes I go 'wordblind ' with some of the rhetoric and nonsense. We have a great , well structured Club, -something is going amiss , but at least we have the organisation and experience to make calm and structured improvements.
(Hopefully with the help of our medical/treatment Teams. ! )

Bloody hell Banana Banana, well done you. Amazing what people put money on. I'd never even heard of the guy.
Glad that Luke Warner-Eley is holding his own in this motley crew. Glad that Nobe's is back. Hope to see him next week.
Onwards and upwards.

Re: Weymouth (A) Sat Aug 17th 3pm
Thanks to Ben at Weymouth for his commentary. Certainly no bias shown towards the Terriers and a fair minded commentary. No problems at all tuning into the match. It seemed a pretty even first half until that first goal just before halftime. There were unexpected comments during the 2nd half, such as 6 at the back and 4 up front, suggesting we didn't have a midfield, and another that 6 Darts were looking at getting on with the game and the others happy to let the game go by. A pity that Wanadio was an injured non starter. Glad to hear that Warney-Eley seems to be doing well and taking the opportunity to make progress in the step up to National level. Very surprised that we were able to attract Adam Cunnington to the club as he has been a thorn in our side and other teams too, so delighted he is on our side, even at 31. But it does seem he needs some support, as I think he was only mentioned once by name in the 2nd half. Good to have Nobe's back in contention, but no doubt he will need a couple of games behind him to get fully match fit after his layoff. Feel somewhat sorry for Ronny Vint in not yet being given a start, especially with so many away goals being conceded. Who would be a manager!! Certainly wasn't expecting us to be 5 games into the season still searching for our first win of the season. Perhaps it was a let off for us this week with only four teams winning, and the remaining matches being drawn.
Still everything to go for, but that first win is needed to give us a confidence boost. Hopefully a midweek without a game will give an opportunity to sort things out.

I will go on Saturday, but i go more in hope that expectation. I would be more than happy with a point at the momentRing Of Fire wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 9:58 pmWe know we're in a hole at present but these desperately frustrating days also show some people's laughable ignorance, lack of respect and true colours, which ain't in black and white! With or without form, I wouldn't beg any fair weather 'so called' fan to go to any home games either.Happy chappy wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 5:31 pm 2 points out of a possible 15.
Only scored 4 goals in 5 games, suggests we are in for a long season.
I don't go to any away games nowadays and if this form continues i don't think i will be going to any home games either.
The only thing i can think of is to sack Laurel and Hardy and let TB take charge again, and the reason i say about putting back TB in charge is that any decent managers wont take over all the while TB is at the club constantly looking over their shoulders.
It is my opinion that when TB resigned from the managers job he should have walked away from the club and cut all links with the club.
As for being a fair weather supporter i see my first Darts game in 1961 and despite all the ups and downs i have stuck with them, but as you get older reality sets in you realise things are not going to get better in the foreseeable future.
Watching a football game at a ground on a cold wet winters afternoon or evening doesn't have much appeal when the football on display is of poor quality and the management seem clueless.
Be assured though. I will still be supporting the Darts look after the present management team has left

You seem to put into words what I think. Great post.
I will say, those of us that do go to many away games but not as many as a lot of the normal, extremely faithful every week supporters, we still care passionately too. We have a lot of faithful supporters who are very loyal to the club as well as all the brilliant every week fan. I wish I had the time and money to do so too but our support is great imo and the every week supporters i would imagine are absolutely appreciated by the club too.
