Weymouth (A) Sat Aug 17th 3pm

Post by spike »

So who's up for the 6.5 hour, 322 mile return trip to Weymouth to cheer on our team who have yet to win a game this season?
No doubt it will be the usual crew of incessant moaners who all want the team to lose or the hard core lifelong fans who are desperate for victory (depending on your point of view). Either way, it will be the same people as usual.

It's a new day, new hope and a victory could change the mood completely. COYD

A game we can't afford to lose even at this early stage of the season

I’m going nice for a nice bit of fish and chips, then over to a ground I’ve never been to so hoping for a result!

The missus will be delighted that her weekend in Dorset will be interuppted by 90 mins of 22 blokes sloshing around on a paddy field. The weather forecast is dire so it would be a bonus if we could avoid any similarity with our efforts on the day.

Hopefully, the boys will have had sufficient time to work on eradicating the sloppy goals that Coylie, alluded to in his post match interview, and we can secure some points to get us moving in the right direction.

Bucket and spade is packed. See some of you down there. ☀️🌧️

I just hope that the pitch here has good drainage. Been raining here in Weymourh since lunchtime. Steady rain has been now replaced by heavy rain which is expected to last for the rest of the day.
Forecast better for tomorrow, just windy.
Safe journey to all those travelling down.

Another thing - I was on Purbeck today and while the drive down took a reasonable 3 hours, it was 4.5 hours to get back with heavy traffic past Ringwood, trouble at the M3 after M27, slow stuff through Merstham and Godstone on the 25 due to rain and being Friday, and the usual bollocks for five miles leading up to the Dartford tunnel.

Obviously can’t be there tomorrow, otherwise I’d have been tempted to stay down but I hope all those who make it are rewarded with our first win of the season. This won’t be a happy place if the result is anything like Monday’s.
