Was gutted to be missing Weymouth away as well as the following Saturday's game (Braintree at home) when the fixtures were announced. Not gutted after last night, four games in and I'll be glad of the hiatus. Season's ten days old.
Be seeing you at Hungerford, by which time hopefully we'll have quadrupled our points tally rather than be in the bottom four.

Article on Kentish Football about Chelmsford City finances. They need a quarter of a million pounds to maintain their current financial plan for the season. Pity Darts fans who went to the match didn't know then, I'm sure they would have held a collection to help out

I think the serious point here is just how expensive maintaining a football club even at our level has become. Remember this is just the additional money required on top of their current income.

Or more likely it is money they are already spending which they don't have and they should therefore have done a bloody sensible financial plan.

Guess each club cuts it cloth according to certain financial restrictions and others simply don't but hope for either a lucrative cup run or a generous benefactor or sponsorship.
I still guess that our budget is not the biggest but is likely to be towards the top end of our league.
Interesting to read the Maidstone owner suggested a salary cap in the National league, relative to income. Perhaps they are also finding it difficult to compete with others.

Chelmsford have been going through the process of a takeover for about two years now, and it always seems to be about to be completed but so far it hasn't happened. Maybe they have budgeted for monies which they hope to have had but has not been received yet. I suppose there will be some drastic cuts if the cash does not materialise fairly quickly.

I was told the MINIMUM amount to run a club on in National League South is £1million, and at least double that in the National league itself.

It can't be a crisis after 4 games and a 0-4 loss is only the same number of points as a 0-1 loss. If we agree that it is not yet a crisis at what point does it become one? I think 10 matches is too long if they are such big score lines, I suggest 2 more big losses and we are in crisis territory

We’re not going up, if there is a change and I mean change not a DFC family swap around, we might have a chance of playoffs then who knows.

I don’t believe Coyle and flan will get us up, I say this based on last season and this season so far.
