Draw seemed the fair result last night - either team could have won it. We weren't as clinical with our passes and decisions in the final third as you'd hope, but that will improve as the team gels. Great performance from Allen, but Adam Cunnington gets my MOTM vote as he seemed to be doing everything right (apart from throwing their CB to the floor) and it won't be long until the others are getting on the end of his headed flick-ons.

Hard to judge much last night about this season.New players in team, some injured to also come into side.
Liked the look of Allen and thought that Cunnington really lead the line well....won a lot of flick ons and very vocal..like a Captain for the forwards!
Defence looked shaky at times...but seemed to have a bit of pace up front.
But also I thought the lose of Bradbrook really showed....a leader that will really effect the team this season IMHO.
Looks like a very open League this season, but whether the Darts will be challenging up top is debatable?

Good to get the first point on the board in a game that was fast paced and confusing at times in terms of shape and gameplan.
Far too few crosses into the big man who was dominant in the air and, as previously said, I was surprised that Ryno didn't get a few minutes at the end to change the thrust of our attacks. I thought all the new boys showed well at times and that fitness was good with everyone going strongly right up to the final whistle.
Finally Kentc must have been so chuffed to see the program last night - he just can't get away from his favourite player!

Nice to know I’m in your thoughts however I never mentioned anyone on this thread and I never mentioned a player. We did play ok and far better than Saturday. I just want to win and have imo the best players playing. Anyone who I don’t think is good enough I’m happy for them to prove me wrong. Whoever is on the pitch I support them 100% during the game always.

Draw a fair result. Was impressed by St Albans, thought they were a bit quicker and sharper than us at times and their work
rate in closing us down and nicking the ball was impressive. My first look at some of the new players, very impressed with Luke
Allen cant wait to see him in tandem with Nobes, Cunnington did what you want from a proper old style centre forward, held the ball
up well and winning a lot of headers/flick on's.

Yes what a find Luke Allen is. This could be a tricky time given the fixtures and injuries. But when you consider the injured players coming back what a lineup we will have.

I thought that we had no shape first half and struggled, but even by our first half performance you could see the talent in Luke allen and Adam Cunnington. Sleightly's comment on Luke Warner-Eley, (no relation) was a tad harsh. I thought the lad had an exceptional game considering we picked him up from the lower leagues. He certainly showed commitment in chasing down a lost cause and getting a cross in.
Second half was a step up and had to be. Unlucky with a few chances as was St Albans. I still had a nagging feeling they were going to pinch it, even to the end.
Wabo was ok, but the little flicks and trickery are going to get him nowhere even in this league, he faded, as for Gnasher?? he was disappointing in my book, I sometimes had to blink to realise he was still out there. These two need to up their game.
Now the good bits, standout players for me Warner-Eley, Wanadio, Cunnington and Allen. Average performances from Wynter, Hill, Bonner and Greenhalgh altough Ben's strike deserved a goal. Smithy looked good in goal and made a couple of decent saves to keep us in it.
A fair performance that was end to end. Defense was shite first half, all over the place.
But it was great to be back even though the drive home was crap. Roadworks the length of the A2,M2 and A299.
Luke Allen for me by a country mile and a good one from Adam too, hope he's ok for Saturday.
I somehow think the Havant game is going to be totally different and we are going to have to up our game.
Quite a bit.

Interesting game tactically. The first half formation didn’t work whatsoever and why we keep insisting on playing one up front I will never know. I said before the game Cunnington needed a partner and as soon as we switch to a 4-4-2 in the second half Wanadio scores from a Greenhalgh cross after a speculative save from a Cunnington shot. Their goal was pretty disappointing. We tried to play offside, everyone stopped and put their hands up leaving only the keeper to beat.

We played well once we went to 4-4-2 and whilst it opens it up for both teams it’s gives up the opportunity to have more than one shot like the first half. We’re only starting to warm up...
