Not the easiest of fixtures to open the season with. One always expects Wealdstone to to put in a challenge for the title and in recent seasons not quite pulled it off. However, they did have a late run last season into the playoffs on a late run of form. Both clubs have something to prove this season, so for me, any point will be a good start and today's two signings might just be the fillip we need to go one better. At least Norman has had the opportunity to play some pre season games for us and knows the lads, whilst Adam is coming in cold with the squad.

To those travelling, enjoy the game.

Well, here we are. Prefer an away fixture to start with as it usually feels like too much pressure at home. At least one of Cunnington or Wabo should start, difficult to see past Cunnington due to his height - hopefully the crosses will come raining in from Hayes and Wanadio. Really changes the dynamic of the side when there is someone to aim for up front.
So with Smith in goal; Wynter and Warner-Eley full backs; Bonner, Noble, Cunnington and the wingers sorted, just leaves a few picks from Vint, Hill, Allen, Greenhalgh, Wabo, Pugh and Sheringham. Think I’d go for Greenhalgh to partner Nobes in the centre, Pugh up with Cunnington and Hill at the back in a classic 4-4-2. Think we went 4-1-4-1 in a couple of the friendlies with Nobes just in front of the back four, but that’s him too deep for me. If Allen is in the Tom Champion / Jamie Day mould (and why should we hope otherwise?), then it’s him I’d rather see in that role.
I hope we can find our voices today and get behind the boys COYD

Good Luck today lads, let’s hope for a good performance, good support & fingers crossed the 3pts but even a point against this lot away would be a good result.
Looking forward to seeing you Tuesday night.

The pleasant relaxing weekends of the past few months come to an end to and it's back on the nerve wrenching merry-go-round for another season.
Good luck to the staff, players & fans for 19/20, for those of us following from afar we will get a detailed report as the game is being covered by Kentish Football, let's hope it makes for happy reading. Many thanks to the fans who regularly travel to away games giving the team such good support on all our behalf, hope all your travels are well rewarded and run smoothly.

Let's hope that Ronnie V doesn't get the hump if he gets left on the starting bench too often.
