Retained/Released players list
Re: Retained/Released players list
Correct me if I'm wrong, does this not mean we now have three Lukes in the squad?!

That gives us a squad of sixteen, I think- eighteen if they are keeping places for Mark Onyemah and Billy Crook.

A right footed left back to go with our left footed right winger - I call that balanced

A right footed left back will be food and drink to a pacey winger, as he will struggle to tackle with his left foot.
A left footed right winger will be coming inside most of the game or stopping and turning to cross with his left foot. It wont take long for opposing defenders to work him out.

I didn't manage to get to do the lottery tonight, but my money would be on him being two footed.

It would be rare at our level if he's equally good with both feet or nearly as good with both feet at our level.
I would suggest if he was he wouldn't be at a club in National League South or North.

Well Ryno has been playing for years on the right with a lot of success , or have i inadvertently started the Ryno debate again ?Happy chappy wrote: ↑Fri Jul 19, 2019 6:08 pmA right footed left back will be food and drink to a pacey winger, as he will struggle to tackle with his left foot.

Re: Retained/Released players list
Possibly. However, if a left footed right winger cut inside then a right footed left back will be tackling with his strongest foot. Howard Kendall used this to great success with Pat Van Den Hauwe for Everton in the 80’sHappy chappy wrote: ↑Fri Jul 19, 2019 6:08 pmA right footed left back will be food and drink to a pacey winger, as he will struggle to tackle with his left foot.

There were some positive comments on the pre-season match thread about Luke, & I saw him on Tuesday & thought he looked good. Now he's suddenly become right footed, I'm confused. Let's see how he goes, maybe he is a two footed player, but only of National South level. Think I'll settle for that.
