I know I'm in the minority, but i think the biggest problem is the management team.El Kebabus of Arabia wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2019 5:53 am Well we need to be optimistic, don't we? A decent squad is being assembled but we have had some quality players on paper in the past and they didn't work out so a our fortunes this season will be determined on our spirit, enthusiasm, hard work, tactics and above all a happy camp where all the squad put in 100% for the managers.
For the record, natural goal scorers do not grow on trees and I remember very well the clinical, quality finishing of Cody Mac....if the guy is one of those then we should take a look at him?
For me we need to banish thoughts of the last 10 games last season and draw a line in the sand....optimism!

Maybe as the jury is out after last season, as I said, the players need to buy into their tactics etc. or another mediocre season it will be.
Re: Retained/Released players list
For christ's sake. Leave it out gents. I know it's all about opinions and it is a forum. But it's similar to what Johnny bairstow said... it sounds like that's all you want to happen.
Re: Retained/Released players list
It's more about what you say Arthur, that's the opinion that matters, well to you anyway. You said 'leave it out Gents'? What's rattled your cage now? I'm optimistic and you, just here to carp into people?
Re: Retained/Released players list
I know everyone is entitled to their opinion and to have a place to post it, but couldn't we all at least try to look on the positive side coming into a new season? New players, new opportunities etc. It was so tiring to read this place last season.

Agree entirely with you Gary. Our website got absolutely f****** boring on here, all the back biting and inane behaviour of a certain few made for zero reading at certain times.
Constructive criticism and positivity is needed. Time to get behind them. This season will be a far tougher one than last.
Now if we signed Alex Morgan we'd all be in perfect harmony, no matter how bad she played. What a looker.

El Kebabus I have said nothing wrong whatsoever. I simply asked for "in my opinion" for the slaters to stop slating and do what our role is and support, we are supporters. I'm sorry if you feel that is wrong but I do agree with Gary c forget the personals on people. The board hire (and without those folk you wouldn't have a platform) the managers and they manage and the supporters support. If you can't support as a supporter than maybe supporting is not for you. Maybe take up stamp collecting. I'm told it's thoroughly satisfying although I'm sure you know about thoroughly satisfying events . Sorry gone against my word and slating. But support or give up. Coyd. Love this club as like all. Think the signings have been superb and sorry for anyone that thinks I'm a "" for liking Jamie and flans, Haysie and all but I couldn't give a frig. Coyd we should support all through thick and thin just like the board members who got us here. Don't forget them without them we wouldn't be here.

I agree with your views as I feel optimistic and also recognise what you say which reflects what happened in the latter part of last season with players and tactics etc.

Hear hear Gary fully agree it's nearing the start of the season let's all think positively about the team the management and about our fellow posters.I know everyone is entitled to their opinion and to have a place to post it, but couldn't we all at least try to look on the positive side coming into a new season? New players, new opportunities etc. It was so tiring to read this place last season.

So let's all get behind the team ready for the friendlies and the start of the season but after that then I do expect posters to voice their opinions when the results start happening, praise when we are fighting to win or winning and no doubt there will be complaints when we are losing that's what I want to read the differing thoughts of the loyal fans.Coyd we should support all through thick and thin just like the board members who got us here. Don't forget them without them we wouldn't be here.
The old saying
Will not I hope apply to many fans Arthur as we cannot always be 100% behind every player, the managers or even the board as we all have faults to be considered. There's none so blind as those that cannot see
Re: Retained/Released players list
To be honest last season I gave up on the Forum it was full of crap nothing positive or constructive just a portal for people to moan!
Hoping for a better season but if we are struggling after the first five I can only hope we stay behind the team rather than calling for the managers heads on sticks to be displayed in the town centre as some sort of trophy!
