Agreed. In football terms a loyal club man player or manager is someone who knows he can't get more money elsewhere so they masks themselves as a loyal club men.
Any player or manager would be a fool he was offered more money by a rival local team and didn't go for it as long as he didn't break a contract if he was on one.
We have had (and still have) some very loyal players who could have got better deals elsewhere.

You got there before me Parkie!
Eliott Bradbrook ? Lee Noble? do they come into that category?
Now he does, but not when Cambridge came knocking. And what took him so long to sign this time? Waiting for better offers that didn't arrive? (Or am I being too cynical or unfair?)

I'm sure if a local part time club had offered £40 a week more in wages and £20 a week more in expenses than we was paying them they would have gone. Everybody has a price. Its foolish to think otherwise

100% correct, and lets not forget that he came to us from Ebbsfleet.
I strongly suspect than ours was the best offer on the table for him when he left Ebbsfleet, hence why he signed for us. He didn't sign for loyalty to us he signed for the money we was offering.
I seem to recall Tom Champion & Tom Bonner took the opportunity to go full-time with Cambridge Utd and they would have been fools not too. We have been lucky with a core group of players who have remained loyal but when a bigger club offers more money and a full-time career in football most players would jump at it. Tom Bonner I understand has a young family and he must think of them when looking at offers from other clubs but I am pleased he has decided to stay with Dartford.

Can you blame him for taking on professional football? Could you imagine being offered the opportunity to become a professional footballer, must be a dream come true. It would be for probably everyone who likes football.
I don’t know much and I don’t know hardly anything like most people on here do, I have no inside information and I have no links to the club.
I know little and I don’t pretend otherwise.
But I know Tom B turned down bigger money offers (remember he has a young family too) to stay Dartford. I also know the delay was not his doing.
