Can't really argue with that Mr Kent, I am quite surprised that you didn't nominate Lee Noble for first team manager! All joking aside, one or two of those points have been spoken on the terraces, along with another conspiracy theory that players were told not to reach the playoffs. Maybe, this is why Arty kept saying "Talk to the Manager's". Who really knows what goes on behind the dressing room doors.
I'm pretty sure Chris Kinnear would not tolerate any interference from TB, oh well, what could and should have been.
Again, all the above is speculation of course.

Summed it right up, couldn't have put it better.Kentc wrote:Lots of critics on recruitment. It’s been terrible. TB has a massive say on recruitment and no one bats an eye lid.
Someone saying they agree we finished where to be expected. So behind Bath, Concord and Welling is where we expect? What a joke. Welling are the best of the rest (discount Woking and Torquay) and welling lose Coyle and look where they are, flan leaves concord, look where they are. So the only reason we should “expect” to come below the teams is if the 2 managers will bring us down while the clubs they left improve. Guess what, this happened.
So what do we do, we reward them.
There can not be any reason for this other than it’s mates doing it for mates again, if the board showed any bottle and made the right decisions rather than the look after your friends, then new fresh blood would come into the club.
It’s very clear and like an elephant in the room that no one wants to talk about that if the board dare get in an outsider with fresh ideas then TB would be in the back ground where he should be. He would not have an Imput but the board won’t have that as they are more interested in looking after their own.
If any of you really think he’s in the background not giving his Imput or not having the final say on transfers then listen to his own podcast and stop being so deluded.
There are managers out there we can afford. Jamie and Adam are on 2 salaries so put them to one for a start.
This board have bottled it yet again to get someone outside in who would have their own minds, coaching staff and ideas and not have TB pulling his strings and having a say. They can’t get away from it.
Flan and Coyle in the DFC family and TB closer than just in the back ground having a say on certain things.
No new comer would tolerate this and the board are far more interested in looking after their mates than moving the club forward. This is so very very clear.
There is no reason to keep J&A infact there is every reason to release them as they didn’t just fail they made huge errors of judgement all through the season.
They’re at the club becuase they have DFC links and this allows TB to still be around the first team, this is purely what the baords decisionis based on.
They don’t have the balls to appoint an outsider that would move the first team forward as it would change thier roles and Imput.
The board are excellent at running the financial aspect of the football club that’s proven however when it comes to the interests of the 1st team they have no bottle and all decisions are based on to look after thier own mates at the detriment to the 1st team progress.
This would happen at no other club and for others to say we are where we should be is embarrassing.
Run by mates for mates, to hell with first team results.
This club is meant to represent the people of Dartford as a town but it’s all too clichey with no ambition and excuse after excuse for failure that a lot of fans buy into just to justify thier decision to keep everything in thier own little mates group.
The footballing decisions of the board are driving this club backwards still and too many fans allow them to get away with it and defend.

The board do not want progression, they should want to take this club as far as possible but they don't.. They look after themselves and not the progression of the club. We all want to see this club be taken to the football league one day, but with the bloody chuckle brothers in charge then I don't think this is going to be happening anytime soon. Sadly.

I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. And I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him.

Re: 19/20 Season
I get where you're coming from and I also think the board have made a gigantic error that will all blow up in their faces very early next season. But I do think all this stuff about TB "having a massive say on recruitment" is not just unfair, it's simply not true. Whatever your views were on TB, he was a great judge of character and would never have signed some of the disinterested lightweights that we did last season. As a director, TB is one of those responsible for making the managerial appointment so if you're looking to apportion blame he is partially culpable for that decision, but when it comes to the football, these two guys are totally in charge and (subject to budget) have complete control over who we sign. This season's on the field debacle belongs entirely to them and they should own it. TB was a very successful manager so I can well understand why they might CHOOSE to talk to him for advice, but this is their decision and theirs alone. Frankly I wish they'd asked for it more often.Kentc wrote:Lots of critics on recruitment. It’s been terrible. TB has a massive say on recruitment and no one bats an eye lid.

Re: 19/20 Season
To say the board do not want progression is in my opinion a bit unjust, without some of these people we would not have a club to support, They will not throw money at it just to get promoted and I feel we need investment to progress and If i am not mistaken this cannot happen as the club is set up because of what has happened in the past, quite frankly I do not want this club be like our near neighbours with all there money problems.AlexJdarts wrote:The board do not want progression, they should want to take this club as far as possible but they don't.. Re: 19/20 Season
So we didn't progress far enough in being in the Conference for 3 seasons. I think the Board achieved a major miracle in getting Dartford FC to that point in the first place. To 'throw money' to keep them there, I would not do. With top players leaving and the teams we were up against, we financially couldn't do it.
Re: 19/20 Season
In his podcast TB clearly states that if the managers ask he will give his opinion on signings and has no input in the current first team, having seen the team disintegrate in the past 6 weeks that is enough evidence for me. TB team's just wouldn't have done that.
Re: 19/20 Season
I don't think for one second that TB would interfere with the playing side, in fact i'm certain he wouldn't but like every other director if asked for advice or an opinion he would and should give it, as would every one of us in the same position. But interfere, absolutely no chance.
Does anyone believe he would have signed the quality of player that turned up at our door this season or use so many players/loan players, it is the complete opposite to how he managed and built his teams.
In fact i think it is totally disrespectful and totally out of order to bring TB into it, he deserves far more respect than that.
Off the pitch we are getting it right but the most important part of a club is the first team so i hope all the very good work the club have done and are continuing to do doesn't get overlooked by continued failure on the pitch.
