Re: Dartford Players of The Past
Yes. Many congratulations to Marcus. Just about to watch the highlights as I wasn't able to see the game itself.
So the Darts have now had 2 keepers that have gone on to play in the old First Division/Premiership, and both as it happens, with Fulham. And I am young enough, at 71, to have seen both play for the Darts.
Besides Marcus, the other was none other than Dave Underwood, back in the late 50s.
Dave actually played for Liverpool in 1953-56 in 45 games.
To Watford the following season and then 57-60 for the Darts, before returning to Watford. He then went to Fulham, again in the First Division to replace the injured Tony Macedo. In that time, I saw him play at Anfield and the Liverpool supporters gave him a massive ovation as one of their own and he went onto play a tremendous game in an otherwise woeful Fulham performance. Was I proud that day!!
And to think, Marcus might have signed for Chelsea as a backup keeper. Now, he has made it remaining with Fulham and goes up as first choice. Really pleased for him.

ben francis has signed for chatham town
Re: Dartford Players of The Past
Ben francis was a very promising youngster with us , WHY do these lads lose their way and end up at places like Chatham , still probably young enough to come again but it will be really hard now !!!!!

That's a great result for Fulham and Marcus, but where does that leave Marcus and the approach from West Ham?
