Well, that explains that mystery! Shame.

"....unfortunately he found the style of play a little bit difficult being truthful because we are quite direct and we expect high levels of work-rate."

Which also explains why Roberts sounded off during the Slough away game complaining "Run, run, run. That's all I get told to do." Ten minutes later he was substituted.

Such a waste of talent. If only he had Bradders' attitude.

Indeed, what a waste of talent. Reading between the lines, he was even given a chance but failed to touch base with the management team. Also sad to see that he was not too pleased with our direct style of play. This was a topic of conversation behind the goal last Saturday, that we have not really had a ball playing central midfielder since the likes of Jamie Day and Jon Wallis were in the team. Guess we won't see a change in style unless all the old guard move on or that we have a change in manager(s), which is very unlikely!

I'm sure our managers would also love to have a ball playing central mid-fielder (did they hope that Billy Crook would fulfill this role? I did!) but availability is something else.
To me it seems that injuries in the run in have had far more of an impact than anything else. I didn't see a team not trying last week - I saw a team lacking the guile to breakdown the opposition. With key personnel in place I don't think we would be where we are now.
