Elliot Bradbrook to retire

Post by Gary C »

In today's programme, it's confirmed that Elliot will be retiring at the end of the season. His last home game will be against Billericay Town on Bank Holiday Monday so it'd be great to see as many of you as possible. There will be more coming out from the Club during the week.

Great shame. But by no means unexpected. A Dartford legend, he will be sorely missed and hard to replace. Thanks for all your hard work in the past, Els, and all the best for the future.

It would be nice for him to go out on a high, in an ideal world as a play off winner. For me the timing could have been better with all the recent negative news. Thank you for being such a great servant and exceptional player, you will go down as a club legend.

The last few seasons have all cadenced in a 'will he or won't he' regarding Elliot's retirement. It must have been very difficult for him to call it time-wise, but just imagine if he were to score the winner in the playoff final, that surely would be perfectly timed. It's difficult to imagine a DFC without him, same goes for Noble and Hayes (obviously we had a taster of Ryan not being here this season), just as it is still strange without Burman at the helm. Still, time marches on and all we can do is be grateful to have had the employ of this transcendent footballer and all-round good egg.

If Elliot's last game is Billericay at home (or Oxford City away), does this mean he has self-excluded from the playoffs if we make it?

Gutted hard act to follow!

All of our games if we get into the play offs would be away!

Bradders is the greatest captain the club has ever had. He truly is a legend at DFC and his achievements are phenomenal. He has been at the centre of that group of players, along with Tony Burman, that have driven this club to great things for the past decade and replacing him will be one of the most difficult tasks our management duo are ever likely to face.

Thank you Elliot for all that you have done for our club. You will be sorely missed but never forgotten.

What a truly great player and loyal stalwart this guy has been for the club. He has been wearing Dartford FC on his sleeve for a long time. One would like to think he would carry on in the game in some way, because wherever he would go he would give his best.
We know he has a good job, he is the type of chap who gives his all in everything he does.
But as a Captain/player of our club he has been an inspiration and a marvel.
All the best Elliot in all that you do.
Maybe not reaching the play-offs isn't the end of the world.
Losing this man far worse

If we finish 5th we will be home to the team finishing 6th in the quarters Gilesy!!

Although after yesterday that's looking highly unlikely!!

If he has trouble fitting in all the games as a player I cannot imagine he would have the time to manage the Darts with all the extra duties . So no.
