2-2 was a fair result, we did not deserve 3 points because we were below par for most of the game and H&R spent too much time
rolling about and wasting time.
Not our best performance but neither side deserved to win imho!
On to Truro next week and hopefully 3 points!

I'm not sure 2-2 was a fair result (for H&R). I think we got out of jail to gain a point. It's a long time since I've seen such an unconvincing home performance. Fair do's to H&R, they were the better side on the day and - despite all their time-wasting and play-acting - they will be disappointed to go home with only 1 point. But then, fair do's to the Darts lads for keeping on plugging away and getting yet another stoppage time goal.

We got away with that one. To say there was a touch of fortune for our second goal is an understatement. I feared the worst when H&RB introduced the Sutton United legend in the second half. I thought the game would be well and truly closed out at that point.
Still, atleast we didn't lose at home unlike Woking. Tried to listen to Dowson's interview to hear the excuses this time only to find it even worse than the Darts post match one. I hardly caught a single bloody word. That man really does need subtitles.

I felt that was our worst home performance for several months and we were extremely fortunate to nick a point. Right from the kick off there was a malaise about the team, we just couldn't seem to get going and we had a hell of a job containing Chris Dickson who won just about everything. It was a complete contrast to recent games, home games in particular, when we have really taken the game to our opponents. McQueen was a bit unlucky not to start although I could see the merit in playing Charlie as he is our only striker who has any sort of aerial presence and with Phil's recent goal-scoring record, it's hard to argue with the starting XI. So at 3pm I had very high hopes but to be frank, I thought we had a really bad day at the office. You could be forgiven for thinking that the players took this one too lightly because it did look for all the world that they hadn't come out with the same level of intensity as in recent games. I was very surprised that Flanners described it (on Radio Kent) as a good performance where things just didn't go our way. Personally, I think things very much went our way and that's one of the main reasons we got a point. Nevertheless, it was fitting that Hampton & Richmond's ridiculous obsession with time-wasting at every opportunity did not deliver them a victory. They were at it from about ten past three and such negativity is not deserving of 3 points.

Having said all that, I do agree with Flanners that there are positives to be taken. Credit to our lads that they kept on plugging away and grabbed a point. Things don't always go your way and it's games like this where you have to just dig in and find a way to get something, which we did. In the end it was very significant because somehow, it has elevated us another place and we have moved up to 6th. I know we are not going to win every week but I think we've got enough about us to beat anyone in this division on our day. As is often the case, my MOTM was Lee Noble.

Moving on to next week where, with Bradders back, I have no doubt we'll come out with much improved passion and determination against Truro … especially since they stuffed us earlier in the season. COYD.

What more can you say we had an off day which was summed up by Haysie who didn't have his crossing boots on they were overhit and all seemed to drift out of play. Hampton were obviously up for it and didn't let us settle but their time wasting which started early in the first half made the game as enjoyable as a visit to the dentist. We were better when Darren McQueen came on with his pace upfront. On the plus side we got a draw when we could have easily lost but now we are looking over our shoulder at Wealdstone who are coming on strong and Chelmsford keep winning and I suspect they will finish 3rd.

Not a good performance but will say they made it difficult and made a nonsense of their league position and after last years performance. Thought that their front 2 gave Bonner and Vint who have been outstanding a real workout and winning many headers. Only realized afterwards that it was Chris Dickson who scored their cracking second, certainly has pace for 34.
