Darts v Hampton & Richmond (Sat 23rd Mar 3pm)

Post by spike »

So on to Hampton & Richmond and with 7 games (4 at home) of the regular season remaining, and given that we have a 4 point cushion over Concord, I reckon 4 wins would be enough to be virtually certain of a play-off spot. The big prize though, would be to get that third place so that we go straight into the semi-finals with a guaranteed home tie. Such has been the improvement in the past couple of months that I think we have a great chance of doing that. We are peaking at exactly the right time, just like Braintree did last season. :D

Third place = semi-finals? So that's how it works under the new system? If we finish 6th or 7th it's the "quarter-finals"?

There are 3 rounds, each consisting of one-off knockout games.

Wednesday 1st May 2019
Qualifying Round – Match A – 5th place vs 6th place
Qualifying Round – Match B – 4th place vs 7th place

Sunday 5th May 2019
Semi Final – 2nd place vs winner of Match A
Semi Final – 3rd place vs winner of Match B

Sunday 12th May 2019
Promotion Final (Whoever finished highest in the league is at home)

The front two have a monster lead so the rest of us are fighting for that all important third place, but as position denotes who's at home, the closer we can get to the top, the better.

Thanks, Spike. Now it's all become much clearer! Just mustn't forget it now.

It's how it was last season Silver. We managed to steer clear of the QF's. So, IF we win ours we can maybe do Woking on the 5th Or the 12th, if of course they manage to win their SF. All very confusing if you're easily confused.
Anyway, well started Spike. That's the first good sign.

Again, not going to be an easy fixture, but should hopefully add to our points tally on Saturday.

This is a great point I’ve completel passed this by my mind though it’s been this way for a couple of years. 3rd place crucial and hopefully Woking don’t get 1st, lose in thier semi final and we play at home in the final.
Home advantage in the final and Woking put. Double joy.
I think I said that right.
