For those that are interested we've been drawn at home to Thamesmead Town in the Kent Senior Cup second round.

Hopefully it won't take 3 months for the fixture date to be announced like it does normally!

Normally attend the KSC matches, but don't fancy spending time out in the freezing night air for this one. If it was Manchester United in the FA Cup instead of Maidstone United in the Kent Senior Cup I would undoubtedly feel quite different. Feeling the cold more heading into my eighth decade, and surprisingly becoming a bit more sensible.

I've never quite got past the year we were thrown out of this competition because our opponents ground was repeatedly unfit to play on and we couldn't reschedule the game at a time suitable to the Kent FA. Mickey Mouse organisation, Mickey Mouse competition. Everyone plays their B team and nobody gives a hoot until the final, and sometimes not even then. I expect it will be -2C again like last night and there will be nowhere to park because the car park will be full of ambulances and Roadrunners as usual. It might rain too.

I'll be there.
