Not posted for a while but got to say we were absouletly shite today and to be honest we have been most of this season, why the hell drop Ben to the bench!? Those two clowns in charge have lost the plot completely they just don’t know 4 months in what is their best team instead they nearly every other game just sign a new player! We are not a team at all just 11 blokes on the pitch without a clue how to pass to each other!
Needed to get this off my chest as I’m completely fed up at what is happening to my club.

We were total shite first half but no doubt after a rollicking in the break we played with far more effort second half but our forwards continue to look like they couldn't hit a cows arse with a dozen banjo's. Young Darbyshire who was impressive against Torquay seemed to have run out of steam today and I was surprised that Bradders and Haysie did not come on. And that freekick in the last minute of the game just outside their penalty area we send everybody forward and then play the freekick over the bar into the bloody crowd. MOM Ronnie Vint for 100% effort.

Tuesday we created but no end product, today we just didn’t create. Today also saw us bring up the number of players used in all competitions to 29 ! This I feel lies the problem, there is little consistency in the team and it’s no wonder why we look like a bunch of total strangers. Today was a perfect opportunity to showcase our talent with parents / family of the academy teams that were in attendance, sadly I can’t see many returning on a regular basis on today’s poor showing

Due to Arriva's totally shite bus service from Bluewater to Hextable I didn't get back home from shopping until 1¼ hours after I had planned, so was too late to make the match. Judging by the above posts, I probably did better to follow the match on Twitter. Did the wind and the rain play any part in the team's performance? Or were they really that bad? Must say, it comes to something when the MOTM looks like being the goalkeeper again.

If you looked at the bench and saw our best two wide men in Ben and Ryno not playing you have to question the reasons for this. Can't understand why Ben was dropped, he was fit and has been one of our best performers all season, bizarre decision. As for Ryno, there have been rumours around that one of our managers was keen for him to return and the other not so, whether this is true or not i don't know for sure but what i do know is he creates more chances and goals than any other player (around 40% of last seasons) so why would you not play him when we score so few?
MOTM difficult decision.
Funnily enough, that fairly widespread rumour was in my mind when I asked the question at the recent Twitter Q&A, about how Adam and Jamie resolve the inevitable differences of opinion that MUST crop up from time to time. After joking about using rock, paper, scissors, they didn't really answer my question, they just reiterated the idea that in general terms they are on the same page. I knew that already and it wasn't really what I asked. I doubt there are any two people anywhere who have ever agreed on every single thing that happens on a football pitch and even if our managers agree on 99% of stuff, my question was about the other 1%. It is inconceivable that any two individuals could have exactly the same ideas at the same time, seek to recruit the same players, pick the same team, same tactics and make the same substitutions, especially since they had not performed this role together previously and didn't even apply for the job as a duo. There are only two options for two managers to work together, either one of them has the final say or both have to compromise. Since they have already stated that they are equal in status we have to assume that it's the latter. I'm not saying it's automatically a bad thing, there are arguments that support the idea of a duo, but I asked the question because I was fascinated by how this works.

Anyway, like Park Life, I was disappointed that Ryno didn't get on the pitch again today and I was very surprised that Ben was dropped. In my view, these two are the most creative players we have. However, I am grown up enough to know that team selection is always going to be a matter of opinion and ultimately, managers have to do what they think is right because in the end they are the ones who will be judged on results. However, whilst I can put my personal opinions on team selection to one side, the thing that worries me the most is the fact that we just seem to keep making change after change after change and nothing is getting settled. One minute it looks like we're making progress and then it's shake the Etch-A-Sketch and start again. If you go on holiday for a fortnight, when you come back you don't recognise half the team. I don't think we can carry on like this for very long, it has to settle down soon if we are going to make any significant progress. It's starting to look a bit like muddled thinking and I worry that this might be a consequence of the compromise between two individuals.

If we don’t win, throw the baby out with the bath water and sign new loan players (is it really less than 30 that we’ve used this season!?!). Tell a previously proven goal scorer he isn’t part of the plan a few days prior to the start of the season because who needs goals anyway? Drop one of the four consistent players we’ve had for no reason and DO NOT PLAY BRADDERS OR RYNO - THEY HAVE BEEN NOTHING BUT TROUBLE FOR THIS CLUB FOR TEN + YEARS.
I’m sorry, but this season is rapidly upgrading from questionable to utterly ridiculous. TB may have been slow to make substitutions and sometimes seen as predictable, but by god, give me a safe pair of hands who could string a set of results together and have the respect of the dressing room over this shambles any day. There are many fans who were branded as the ‘rose tint brigade’ since DFC stopped getting promoted in 2013 biting their tongues, but without doubt all of them (us) are thinking ‘be careful what you wish for’. Probably the worst thing about the 2018/19 DFC team is that we just really aren’t very entertaining at all, furthermore, to the supporter with some knowledge of the club we are getting it all wrong from the top.

I was lucky enough to be losing lots of money on lots of races at a miserable Sandown yesterday. The alternative sounded predictably less appealing. Be careful Dartford FC, many more bad decisions could cost this club dearly.

Our current season bears a very strong resemblance to that of Welling of last season, periods when the team function, win consecutive games and are play off contenders followed by poor performances and results and the look of a lower mid table team, the players being rotated and the revolving door syndrome we seem to have adopted from Welling makes a mockery of any high level coaching badges these managers posses.
Any coach needs time to improve the players or implement a playing style, the scatter gun approach to player recruitment no coach would be able to develop a brand of football with a constantly evolving squad.

This coupled with the the decision to let a goalscorer leave early in the season makes the comparison even stronger. In addition to the fact that Welling at one stage were the "form team" last season only to tail off and finish mid table.

I would be pleasantly surprised if we make the play off this year, but do feel this season is building for next. We seem to be trying to re build a squad capable of winning games consistently, rather than being confident we have the right players and finding a system that suits.

In short we are work in progress, I don't doubt JC or AF are fully committed and are doing their best for the club and as such fully support these guys as do all on the forum, we are like all fans - I guess only happy when we win !

I am looking forward to the good times when we can just have a moan up about bread pudding, holes in the car park, ambulances and the price of water at PP as we have won

Always love your posts mike and I don’t want to bring up something we’ve all beaten to death but for me the issue on this subject is I personally wanted a change. A change in the management of the playing side. The club have just passed it on to their DFC chums.

Some say be careful what you wish for and that makes total sense, however my response would be to understand what some wish for.
It wasn’t a continuation of the DFC friends and boys club.

If it wasn’t going to be a complete change on the playing side I didn’t want TB to go. What’s the point. I think he’d do a better job than what’s going on now.

Pretty sure I’ll get slated for this I know but I think it’s just important that while I obviously don’t speak for anyone else I’m pretty sure the idea of change was a fresh management change to the playing side. In my opinion this is not the case.

I have said many times I’ll support A and J but it’s worrying.

IMO of course.

Well, I was going to say there's a lot of shite flying around on here this morning.
Considering, you wasn't going to say a lot Kentc you finally got round to your old chestnut. Of which I long ago agreed with you. But even I stopped barking on about it. No offence.
Let's face it, the weather didn't help this game, and being over on the Princes road side spent a lot of time running up and down the steps trying to keep dry. If this game had been played in any other weather I felt we would have won it. Although for long periods we couldn't string two passes together I felt that Slough were very 'ordinary'.
They had three good scoring chances with headers but their finishing was awful. They absolutely bruised the ball with long punts across and up the pitch. Perhaps it works on 4g/3d pitches, I don't know.
We just didn't get started, and to have a free-kick in the last minute and have our 'best creative' player put it in the crowd behind the goal, well, just about sums it up.
Four players stood out for me Ronnie Vint (my MOTM), Daniel Johnson, (had a better game than Tuesday night) and Jordan Wynter again tried hard and is consistent. But I've got to say Bailey does make things interesting, he's our third center back. Deren would have been rooted to his line mostly with forwards bearing down on him.

It's good to vent now and again, and it's fairly consistent across Kent football since last season. Dover, Folkestone, Maidstone, Ebsfleet and Darts. None had bad seasons in a true sense, but at each, there had been expectation which faltered in the home strait. 3 Clubs dumped Managers, failed to renew Players contracts, and went headlong into unknown Managers with Coaching Badges and 'contacts' , and a new start. We began with two Managers who "fought in the trenches" for us previously, and who are "Us" , but with an ability to Manage and Play the game. I am unashamedly, a Burman management fan, because whatever we thought of our right to have more or better, Tony ensured that Dartford, their Club, Supporters , and Board , were envied across this County and beyond.
We all are now struggling to regain momentum. Dartford type players faltered to join during the closed season because of uncertainty, and our Management are now sorting the Wheat from the chafe to get it right. We are not 'pretty'', but we are up there. Painful as it may be to all across the Dartford Family, we may have to follow the Bradbrook/Noble ethic on what this Cub means. That while they believe- we believe. And further, we buy Tickets for the Andy Pugh night, because he fights with that same ethic.
