Retained List 2018/19 & New Signings
Re: Retained List 2018/19 & New Signings
So there’s a report saying we’re after a striker. Where are people’s bets? Adam Cunnington has left Billericay and Dan Thompson has left Braintree.

Adam C would be a good signing - on his earlier record but I don't know if he's gone downhill since then, or if we could afford him.

The "Messenger" mentions that players are being offered money DFC cannot match by clubs in the league below ours. A seven-day approach was apparently put in for another player who then signed a pre-contract agreement with a League 1 club! Lots of competition for goal-scorers.

Phil Roberts it is, let’s go!

He's been around a bit, epecially in Scotland in his early post-Arsenal career. His longest - and most successful - spell seems to have been Braintree 2017-18: 30 games, 17 goals. Now that's what I call a pretty good goals per game ratio! Keep it up, Phil!

Phil Roberts - Welcome to Princes Park - the Home of the Darts!
No pressure but would appreciate a stack of goals from you as we are one of the lowest scoring clubs in the League!
Good Luck, Phil.

Welcome to Dartford Phil. Just read a few observations from other clubs he has been with and the General consensus is a very talented footballer but is a little difficult to manage. . Let's hope he fits in here and gets the goals.

Let's hope so John. Everything I've read is fairly positive, but whatever players have done elsewhere doesn't really matter, it's what they do in a Dartford shirt that counts. Newbies all start with a clean sheet in my book and I think we should just take all that "difficult to manage" stuff with a pinch of salt. Anyway, they said that about Cody McDonald, but opposing defenders found him a lot more difficult to manage than we did.JohnDFC wrote:Welcome to Dartford Phil. I'm just pleased that Jamie and Adam are doing their best to fix the problem. We are a much better side than we were a month or two ago and with a tweak or two, we could still have a decent shout at the play-offs.
