I would like to thank you for your feedback regarding the marketing and we welcome all views and ideas you have on how it can be improved. As previously mentioned I do not monitor the forum and have to be made aware of such things by other people so would rather people email me direct with questions/ feedback / ideas. Let me try and provide some answers to your feedback.
Once the replay was confirmed we advertised the game as per normal through our normal channels, unfortunately it was too short notice to produce posters and have them distributed via our volunteers around the town. Being short notice you also have to hope that Dartford fans who saw we drew on Saturday would know there was a replay and find out when via word of mouth etc... The fixture board was unable to be changed on Sunday / Monday due to staffing levels and was an oversight on Tuesday morning so I apologise for that and does not happen normally. We expected around 500 for this game as it was FA Trophy where everyone had to pay and a Tuesday night and due to the weather I feel we lost some supporters but dont feel it was a huge drop to what can be expected at this round of the Trophy.
In terms of Millwall, a full press release was announced in the summer by them which we covered and they market their games as they see fit. The amount of people coming to their games does not affect the deal we have in place with them revenue wise. We help and support them as much as we can as part of the relationship and this will continue going forwards.
As mentioned above my email is operations@dartfordfc.com if anyone has any questions etc... and we also welcome anyone who wants to volunteer some time to help improve things. At the moment we can only distribute posters so far due to lack of volunteers but would love for this to change.
Thanks Jack

Re: Eastbourne Replay - 27/11/18
No appetite for the cup competitions this season then. Of course they're not that important apart from the revenue streams they create, with the occasional televised windfall thrown in, to enable our rivals of the likes of Oxford City to kick on in the league.
So, we now find ourselves with the advantage of concentrating purely on the league. What, as in trying to stay in it?
As for chasing the play-offs, don't make me laugh.
That'll be like RODNEY CATCHING A MUGGER!

Re: Eastbourne Replay - 27/11/18
Yes it was a disappointing attendance, but the game was poorly advertised, and the weather played its part, but the most interesting comment was that the game was not that important?
I can accept to a point that the league is our main priority, but if not being an important game is the consensus of a number of fans, a gate of 400 is probably about right.
So on that basis, the Kent Senior Cup QF tie against Maidstone, which is scheduled for New Year’s Eve, (or has it been rescheduled?) is going to be a non-event, taking into account that a lot of fans may be partying? The weather may be awful, and the KSC is regarded lower in priority than the F A Trophy?

The Maidstone game will not be played on the 31/12/18, that is date it is to be played by. Another reason being that we are playing Welling United the following afternoon. I don't think the date has been set, it may well spill over to the new year.

What a shame, on so many levels, disappointed!

The gates at Hemel Hempstead (137) and St Albans (174) for their replays make ours look good! Tuesday night, bad weather and season ticket holders paying all added to the general lack of interest in the early rounds of the Trophy always lead to such attendances.

Personally, I wish it had been 413. A four hour round trip to watch that mind numbingly dire Darts performance was a disappointment to say the least!!!Matt wrote:What a shocking turn out! 414! very disappointing.
Even more disappointing after the battling display in the first game on Saturday. Eastbourne had more structure, organisation and worryingly, desire too. They totally deserved their win despite their late wobble, which flattered us.
None of our more influential players, Noble, Brabrook or Greenhalgh were anything like their best and there was no inspiration from anywhere on the pitch. And what's happened the the old Ryno? His confidence (and therefore his influence) seems rock bottom; a shadow of his former self.
A massively disappointing night all round.
Re: Eastbourne Replay - 27/11/18
Disappointing result but hardly surprising. Inconsistency has been a problem all season and why they find themselves out of both cup competitions early. Losing extra revenue is probably the biggest blow to the club over all. The squad isn't the biggest in the league and having a cup run, may have given the management some cash to spend on bringing in some extra players. Unfortunately, that's out of the window now.
