Game cancelled tonight. Some reports say “folded”
What terribly sad news.

According to the Isthmian League website Thamesmead are not necessarily finished just yet. The League have postponed their next two games as potential buyers or investors have made contact. The need xxx scheduled match is on 27th October at Herne Bay - so any rescue will have to be quick

The week after non league day. All this bull about helping the lower league clubs is absolute rubbish. People go in tv and talk about it to look good but whatever gets done. What happens, nothing!
This should not happen in this day and age of how rich football is.
Looking forward to see more pundits talk about it but not do anything about it.

The sale of Wembley was supposed to filter much needed money down the chain but i doubt if that would have helped the likes of Thamesmead. Too many clubs living on the brink, while the rich get richer. Premier clubs couldn't give a monkeys.

It seems that Ebbsfleet are also having to restructure financially and are releasing staff and players

The last update from the Isthmian League website is from three weeks ago, as Taunton Dart posted above, that Thamesmead Town FC had "not entered into an insolvency event" (http://www.isthmian.co.uk/thamesmead-to ... ate-53452/). It seems that the club is still postponing matches weekly in the hope of rescue and has not withdrawn from the league.

With regard to the Kent Senior Cup match tonight, does anybody know if they have simply postponed the fixture against us until they may be able to play? I have not found an update from either club. I would imagine that the Kent FA will not allow an indefinite delay.

Naturally, I expect the Kent FA to follow precedent – as we are unable to play in the KSC, due to the circumstances of our opponents, over which we have no control, they must throw us out of the competition immediately!
