Thamesmead Town put up for sale for £50,000: All sensible offers will be considered
THAMESMEAD TOWN owner Paul Bowden-Brown has officially put the club up for sale for £50,000.
The homeless Bostik South East Division club are in the second of a five-year groundshare deal at Princes Park Stadium in Dartford but the owner has placed an advert online to find new owners.
Under the headline of “Non-League club in Dartford for sale,” the advert that was posted on https://uk.businessesforsale.com, says the loss-making club can be purchased for the asking price of under £50k.
The website states: “Owner of Non-League club playing in Bostik League wishes to retire from the game due to ailing health. He therefore wants to ensure the club has new owners that will continue the good work on and off the field. All sensible offers will be considered, the club does not own its own ground.”
The website also reveals that the club has a turnover of under £50,000 and has three full time employees and a squad of 26 players.
The Mead have played five home games in all competitions so far this season attracting 125 (against Faversham Town); 139 (Sittingbourne); 42 (Merstham); 85 (VCD Athletic) and 84 witnessed their 3-0 win over Guernsey last Saturday.
Thamesmead Town were founded in 1969 and on the pitch they are presently sitting in the bottom four in the table with two wins from their opening seven league games.
Under the heading expansion potential, the website states the club “has a first team, an under 23 side, five youth teams with 26 youth teams joining the club at the start of the 2019-20 season.”
Thamesmead Town were without a game today due to their first hurdle FA Trophy exit at Didcot Town a couple of weeks ago, but they return to league action when Horsham visit Princes Park on Wednesday, 17 October (19:45).
Horsham are in fifteenth-place in the table and have won three of their seven league games.

Re: Thanesmead Town for sale
I did ask the question when the ground share deal was arranged with Thamesmead would they survive to honour the deal. They struggled on gates of 100 when they played in Thamesmead and like Greenwich Borough before them the hope that 300 Dartford supporters would turn up to watch them was sadly never going to happen. I have been to watch both Thamesmead and Greenwich at Princes Park and its depressing to see only 70 people in the ground. I hope they find their sugar Daddy and survive but then again if there is a sugar Daddy in Dartford why is he not investing in Dartford FC.
